Fedor Gorst - looking for action in Louisville, KY tomorrow. If you could - would you?

WTF??? What you're describing is 'lessons', this ain't that. This deal is Fedor playing suckers and smiling when its over. You play FG a set for c-note you ain't hearing/learning shit. Well maybe polish your racking skills. This is wham-bam-thank you-mam production line hijacking. If ol Fedor can get 'em to line up for slaughter more power to him.
Sure seems negative to me.
I responded to you I did not interject anything.😉
Have a nice day.😀

Agree, I would happily hand him hundreds all day to play him some banks and pick his brain. Only in pool would their be a discussion about this as the pros are much more available. In probably every other sport in the world people would be tripping over themselves to pay much more than $100 to play with a world champion

Well, it's pool, not golf or tennis.

What a weird analogy that has nothing to do with pool.

If you had the chance to play Efren/Scott/Alex/Tony in one-pocket for $100 you wouldn't do it? Obviously you would ask for a spot that you are comfortable with, they wouldn't just offer you the world just because they're great.

I think you just don't like Fedor for some reason. Not sure why you would say he has "zero honor" by trying to have some friendly practice with pool fans/enthusiast. If someone accepts a game with him playing even, then that's just not smart on their part, they should be the ones asking for weight. And I'm sure he would gladly give them a handicap if they asked, if they don't ask, then too bad.

Except Tony I've played them other guys (even).

And, it's called an analogy.

And puhleeese, don't go looking for and assigning motives where none exist. Also, please, don't twist my words. I did not say he had zero honor. Someone said playing him would be an honor and I replied there was no honor in the particular scenario being discussed.

I have nothing again Fedor, I think he's a good self promotor and is putting together a successful career for sure. I don't have anything against what he's doing with this either.
I do have to say that I think it's a little disingenuous to say he's trying to have some friendly practice with fans when it's a hundred head to be friendly with him. He's running a business and if people line up to play him he's doing a good job.

Did you play them for the money even?

I believe you're a 600 but I've never seen a 600 put up a 7-pack, let alone do it on 3 different occasions, respectfully.

That's strong as f*$k. I would say you are severely underrated.

Was this on a Valley barbox? What was the game?
I clearly said I only play once or twice a year, I didn't say I've only played that often my entire life. I also never said that I didn't play better in the past.

2 times 9' 1 time BB all 9 ball

I really have no desire to play any better, I don't have the time because I'd rather hang out with my dog or play poker 😁

No.

It's a total and complete donation with zero honor. Fedor can give up numerous balls to just about anyone. He should be offering up 11-6 to all comers, still be stealing, but at least giving up a chance. Otherwise he can be like Woodward selling "worn" jerseys for $100.

Lou Figueroa
just what I want, lol
Of course it's a donation, but how is it not an honor to get on the table with an all-time great? It's a story for posterity, no more and no less. Being able to say "I once played Fedor Gorst" would be a very big deal to many starstruck players. Anyone who doesn't see value here need not partake.

FYI, I've seen both Reyes and Chohan gambling even at one-pocket with no-name players at Derby City. Freddie the Beard, similarly, used to gamble cheap with no-names at bank pool without giving weight at Derby City. There are many who are happy to donate for the thrill of playing a legend, knowing they have little to no chance to win.

The problem with most pool halls now is they're boring. The pool hall I grew up playing in had 25-30 regulars there all the time (good dudes!) trying to hash out games with one another. It wasn't easy, but we all ended up in action after some negotiating. Sometimes you got a game you liked, sometimes not, but everyone always ended up in action. Half the room played heads up and the other half in ring games. I can recall there were one or two guys that only wanted to play for the time and everyone teased them because of it. Everyone gambled and money mostly just rotated around. If someone couldn't hash out a game, they would stomp out mad for everyone freezing them out. That was rare though.

In the evenings, card games broke out. It was just a great place to hang out with your friends, play games and gamble. I go to pool halls now and they have a totally different feel / vibe. They lack that gambling atmosphere and camaraderie. Gambling doesn't have the same thrill to me as it used to, but to me, pool is like poker...ya gotta be betting something.

It's probably good that I can't find a room like that close to me...I'd be there all the time and end up in divorce court because of it.

My 9' is at my friend's house, the last time I hit balls on it(maybe 20 balls cause my mom and aunt were with me) was the end of July 2 summers ago - I may be mistaken about even once a year 😪.

Maybe this thread will inspire me

oh my God, Stu -- how is getting on the table with Fedor in this kind of a situation any kind of honor?

He's going to drill your eyeballs out. However, your comment about how it'd be something to "starstruck players" is true.

And yes, Efren and Chohan gamble with the hoi pollio at various events. I've seen it too. But they at least give up some weight.

still got the
nuts though, lol

I'd pay $100 to play Fedor in a race to 11 in 9B.

He's not going to run 11 racks on you.

He might string together a couple of 4 packs.

But you are going to get your chance to play a top pro. And feel the pressure of people watching. Which should make your league or whatever a little less stressful for you.

I have seen both of them gamble with the John Q Publics of the world giving no weight. In fact, one year my roommate played some $50 a rack one-pocket with Chohan with no spot. He won just one of the four racks played and seemed quite proud of himself.

My experience regarding champions, is that they will load up hobbyist types of players with weight, if you bet something.

I've also said that you need more weight than you think playing top players.

suckers play the slot machines and justify it for whatever reason. that's on them. at least there once in awhile they do win.

suckers play better players even for money and justify it in their minds . fine with me.

but if you are stupid enough to do it with a pro and play even. at least make it a one and stop game. then you get to shoot as many times as him.
but will still lose. but will get some play in.
now maybe you wont be such a fool. as a fool and his money will part.
