Fedor Gorst - looking for action in Louisville, KY tomorrow. If you could - would you?

I played Sky a set of bar table 8 ball - race to 7 for $100.00 a few years ago when he was in town for the Big Tyme Classic - he torched me and then afterwards gave me some great tips/advice - well worth it. If I was in KY, I'd pay Fedor several $100.00 sets for the same experience - if you're a golfer, it's like the equivalent of a round with Tiger at his prime for $100.00. If I find a pro who wants to match up like that and agrees beforehand that when the set is done, he'll talk to me about what I need to work on and spend 15-20 min with me talking through my errors, I'm in every time.

In my 15 years of playing, I've only had 1 person refuse to pay because they said they simply didn't have the funds. I held onto his playing cue until he was able to pay off. No drama involved. The sad part is, his cue was worth more than the money he owed lol.
Cues, car titles, leather jackets, motorcycle helmets. All kinds of things if you know them well enough. Had a few buy them back also. Sometimes you bring your own "bad guys" if you don't know them or play for a lot. There are ways to mitigate. Sometimes it's not worth the BS.
All part of it.

No offense, but Fedor and Sky are 2 WAYYYYYY different people. To Fedor it's a business transaction, to Sky he is like, here is what I saw you did wrong and I look forward to another game after you work on things a bit.

I could see that, but I'd set the expectation beforehand that I know I'm donating to him and would like some return on my investment. Whatever game we played, I'd play even but I'd want his agreement beforehand that my "donation" gets me his insight and things that can help me advance. It's not a huge ask and I'd like to think he'd be agreeable - if not, then I'd simply decline to play and find an opportunity with a different pro at a later date. I do sometimes spend my money like I'm mad at it, but not in this case. Great thought and observation though - thx!

Hi HouTexPlayer. I think he did set the expectation. I'm looking to play anyone in the world $100 sets, in the words of Goodfellas, Business bad, F U pay me, delivery late F U pay me, had a fire F U pay me. He's not looking to anything other than heist.

In other news Stu Ungar is looking for people to play Gin and Mochy is looking for high dollar backgammon action.

I am amazed how you get that out of what he posted ? Must be the way you think ?

he gives no expectation of lessons or help although he may .
he indicates he wants practice sets to tune in his game. at your expense. simple simon.

now if smart, make the deal to include what you want from it. then it is fair.

Even at that level it's just hoorah. (learned the term from some book) No ringers you can import, make a real game?

Well, lets see. Best player in the world wants to play "practice sets" min $100 MINIMUM $100 doesn't mention that he would help instruct, or offer some ind of semi fair game. Seems pretty straightforward to me.
