2026 DCC 9-Ball Discussion

FB is crying that there are 701 in the 9 ball, but there are really about 504. The digital pool player's list states 701, but they are including cancelled players that didn't pay (not forfeits). There were 252 called matches in round 1 (with several of those being FF due to paid no-shows).

He caught a stomach bug.
Thanks for the info. The forfeited match was on Thursday. Then he played and won 2 matches on Friday. Let's hope the bug is gone or minor enough to not affect his play on Saturday (and possibly Sunday).

Looks like he drew the same opponent (Kashton Keeton) for Round 5 as he had in Round 3.

Here is what he posted on FB.

After round 9 it looks like 21 players and four with buybacks:
SVB
Gorst
Meglino
Teutscher

Starting round 10 before 9 finishes. I think they need to go through round 13 or maybe 14 today.

A few of the 9 ball matches have gone over 2 hours.

I just noticed that matches can be Playing or Completed or Called. Now we have two matches that are red flashing Called

Pinegar and Childress 20 minutes late, or five if you look at their scheduled start time.

The racking rules are all over the place. Filler is racking the 2 and 3 in the same place in almost every rack during his match against SVB.

This whole event looks sloppy compared to what we have gotten used to with Matchroom. Players wearing headphones, conceded balls and racks, players practicing while the other player is taking a break. They probably prefer it like this though, apart from the atrocious scheduling.

It looks like Filler is going to finish before one of the Round 9 matches. He must be feeling better. Or, he wants to get somewhere soon. 🚽

This is Derby City, of course it is rough around the edges.

As usual, only the chemically-aided 20 somethings will be able to perform at any decent level after 12 to 20 hours of playing today. DCC continues to be plagued by poor leadership refusing to limit the fields and continuing with the bigfoot and banks ring game nonsense.
