Pool Ball Collecting.

Heavily considering it but based in the UK and the shipping is at least twice what's being offered.

And not sure what ball set they actually might be - at best some Aramith Super Pros...

How about making an offer for just the box, Carl?

The seller might consider it given the balls are not a match. And an empty box might be quite reasonable to ship perhaps?

Looking into it. ;)
Let us know if it happens.

There's also the slightest chance I might be able to get one for you but it won't be in great shape.
The guy I know, who has it holding odd balls might be difficult to part with it also.

My box has tape on the corner, the balls are like new though.

I managed to negotiate something - hopefully it doesn't get lost in transit!

Funnily enough, I had tape in the exact same spot in the box that I threw out.

Can anyone tell me, besides the cue ball, it there anything particular about the IPT set's colour scheme?

I like it and I'm wondering where else I could find a set like it? The purple and the orange both seems like really nice, deep colours. And the gloss on them seems like it might be similar to Super Aramith Pro level?

I did a little searching and it looks like these are almost the same colourway as Aramith Tournaments. Maybe?

But the more I look at these, the more it looks like they are glossier than the Aramith Tournament balls? And also maybe the background of the numbers looks a little like mother-of-pearl?

I find them to be more like Aramith tournament. They're a little more iridescent and larger around the numbers than current Tournament balls.
That's my observations and not sure if there's any other difference.

Did your research tell you what years these were made and/or the last time they were produced?

Also, I noticed the font is a little larger and not quite as thick. A much cleaner. The IPT are more desirable looking than the tournament In my opinion.

The next time friends and loved ones criticise your pool ball habit, dear friends, gently remind them that Logan Paul just sold a collectible Pokémon card for $16m. 😳

Haha, I think I saw they were only made for a year or maybe less? And it was in the early 2000s?

The good news for me is that the current Aramith Tournaments are close to the design of the IPTs.

That's the info from my side, it was only a little Googling, I couldn't call it research.

So, from you guys that do know, how many sets of IPT balls are out there? And how often do they come up or where might they be found? What range do they kind of go for?

Here is an open request for help, haha:

Here's a Craigslist ad that I found for a set "excellent condition" Raschig 14.1. But, the ad is for "cash only, local pickup only" in Albuquerque... I have tried texting the guy, emailing him, and messaging him on Craigslist.
https://albuquerque.craigslist.org/spo/d/albuquerque-raschig-billiard-pool-balls/7876593009.html

But, I am nowhere near Albuquerque, which automatically means PayPal+shipping, which he's ruled out.

So, is there anyone in Albuquerque that can help me get them? Haha, I'd be happy to add on a few bucks for the trouble. I've been hunting Raschig sets and this looks like a good one~

Haha, the longer I stare at this picture, the more I think I see things, or maybe I don't...

What're the chances you could line them all up beside each other respectively, 1-15+cue ball? There seem to be design differences and colour differences and I'd love to have a clearer look at the same numbers side-by-side, if you could :-)

I tried to persuade the seller to ship those Raschigs, too, dear chap. It is indeed a very low price… a similar set sold on eBay very recently for $560 plus shipping.

Good luck, sir. I hope you find someone willing to help.

Did you ever get a reply from him?

For sure the price is a good price, but I guess if you're only open to selling in person in Albuquerque, NM, that might be just a reasonable price, or even too high of one since it's been up for 6 months and it's still there...

Anyway, here's to keeping my fingers crossed that someone out there can help.

No, I don’t think he did reply now I try to recall.

They're a unique design, definitely would be nice to have at a home table. And they're made by a good manufacturer, which is great news.

In the beginning my ball buying journey last year, I didn't originally know about the ball quality topic very well besides not wanting "garbage bin" balls. This is also how I came to even own the "Tiffany" ball set and the "Louis Vuitton" ball set knockoffs. The Tiffany ones aren't a complicated design, so they're "fine", just don't feel very nice and are a little "matte" on the finish. The LV ones suck; gaps in the resin, sunken parts, and uncentered and inconsistent execution. I didn't have a good understanding of this until I opened the Diamond by Cosmos balls and their phenolic resin and vitrification layer were amazing.

So, the fact that these are a nice set, made by Dynasphere, and are also phenolic resin are all big pluses. The price though seems like $450/set?
