Pro Billiard Series - Las Vegas Men's Open 10ball live now

I took a lesson with Filler recently and one of the things we worked on was decision making in various scenarios and it was fascinating to see his judgement and mental calculations at work. He's definitely done the work to train himself to make optimal decisions as often as possible.
curious (if you don't mind sharing) how much a lesson with Filler costs? Sounds like it would be a great experience.

In other news:

Team Poland has defeated Team Philippines in the WPA Teams 10-Ball World Championship.
It is double elimination so they would have to fight back on the loser's side.
Team South Korea is leading 2 sets to 1 against Team USA (A). If they win one more, they will win the best out of 5 sets and defeat USA.

PLAYING FORMAT

All matches are played in sets, race to 4, using winner-break format (winner of the rack breaks the next rack).

Set 1 – Team Lineup (3 players)
  • Played with the lineup of 2 same-sex + 1 opposite-sex athlete.
  • One player plays one rack, rotating through the lineup each rack.
  • Teams choose their lineup and can be played in any order, regardless of opposing player’s sex.
  • Race to 4, winner breaks.
Set 2 – Same-Sex Doubles
  • Two players of the same sex must play this set.
  • Race to 4, winner breaks.
Set 3 – Mixed Doubles
  • One male and one female athlete must play this set.
  • Race to 4, winner breaks.
Set 4 – Singles (if needed)
  • The player selected cannot be someone who played in both doubles sets (Set 2 and Set 3).
  • Race to 4, winner breaks.
Set 5 – Shootout (if needed)
  • Standard shootout format to determine the winner.

Bummer! Good thing I didn't bet on any team because I picked the Philippines and USA - A to win and they both lost. Looks like Singapore and Japan might also lose so that will be a clean sweep picking the losers for me in Round 1 😆.

Kwon from South Korea is a monster! I have never seen him shoot before. USA-A missed some easy shots and South Korea got some rolls, but overall the team that played better won.

Interesting the teams aren't all the same size, most countries have 3 players, but some have went for 4 or 5 players

The young phenom Hayden Ernst is bulldozing some kid.

Watch the 6th rack (1st game of the 2nd set) and look at how he gets from the 4 to the 5, UNREAL!!! Super sick delayed draw shot.

Edit: The 18yr old Robert Orta has made a comeback and tied up the 2nd set hill-hill, so he might force a 3rd set if he wins this.

Holy crap this Orta kid is seriously impressive. Apparently he is only 605 Fargo but plays like a 700+

Orta was about to win the 3rd set 4-0 but shot a straight in 9ball and the cue ball followed into the pocket but didn't scratch, he got hooked by the nipple and couldn't see the 10ball. Ball in hand for Ernst to make it 1-3 and a chance to comeback.

Wow, what an incredibly exciting and dramatic match between these two young guns. Hayden made the comeback to tie up the 3rd set and force a shootout. I was on the edge of my seat. I won't spoil it so you'll have to watch the ending yourself to see who wins. You won't be disappointed.

I noticed the following that happens a lot in trap shooting that happens during a shootout.
1. The player misses his/her first shot.
2. If a player misses, the other player misses the very next shot.
3. If a player is straight from the second diamond and could win on the fourth shot, he/she misses that shot.
These are just pressure points where your brain starts messing with your muscles. Keep these in mind when viewing a shootout next time ... it makes it more fun for me.
Am I good or what! Check the shootoff between Juniors Hayden Ernst and Robert Orta on table 1, it followed the above almost to a T. Same thing for the Jasmin Ouschan and Chezka shootout in the women's quarterfinals.

i think yalin does. chinese manufacturer that makes brunswick.

these tables seem to play tough. looking at them the shelves don't look as deep as diamond, but they seemed to play every bit as tough as the PLP diamonds. would be interesting to hear a player's take on them
I agree, it would be interesting to hear what the players have to say.

It would be interesting to see a video of one being assembled or disassembled.

I presume they are three piece slate construction.
