Not the first thread on this but I was hoping to be different and get folks to post what cue the have and what the butt diameter is for that cue. Kind of building a data base.

I’ve found that I really enjoy the feel and wrist action from a larger diameter butt.

A few current cues:
Viking window 32.3mm
Terbrock full splice 31.3
Huebler H-E 30.9mm

Crazy how 1mm, wrap or no wrap, leather or linen can feel so different.
Definitely leaning toward putting my Viking back in rotation because of it.
Thanks all! Let’s see and hear what ya got!

1.25" is pretty standard but there will always be deviation.

the cuetec svb butts are pretty thick in the handle but same dia at the end as a truewood,
the difference is in the handle which is odd but works very well

I plead guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a thread. A perfectly logic question that has been abused. 🤷‍♂️
So how does that song go? It Ain't the Meat, It's the Motion.

The cues I make are usually around 1.24

other cues I own are all over the place. Some are fat as a baseball bat, some are skinny like my schon.

I never really had issues being attached to one cue or another, so I've always picked out a different cue every day I shoot and I am comfortable with it. When I make cues, I prefer them to be inbetween, so I shoot for 1.24, and will adjust for certain scenarios.

For me, the biggest thing I feel and notice is wraps. I prefer wrapless for shooting feel, I prefer leather for looks, and linen for actual grip. More so than the material of wrap, I notice the length of the wrap a lot. I am a big dude, 6'3" - 6'4" depending which doctor measures me, so I always grip the cue near the bumper, even with my longer cues. If the wrap starts high on the butt sleeve, and I get a half and half grip, that bothers me sometimes. So I made some cues for myself where the leather / linen goes right down to the butt cap, or close.

My buddy bought a svb cuetec that has the wrap all the way to the bumper and I love that cue because of that. So does he.

Also, quality of materials. Cheap wraps kill it for me. I don't mind inexpensive wraps, but the dogshit cheap-o not even garbage grade leather they try to pawn off as some time of leather is a no-go for me playing wise. It feels like shit, smells like shit, looks like shit. I've gotten amazing quality wraps for as low as $12 if I am looking for good deals.
