I think Vegas wears out even the toughest pros after 10-or-something days of PBS.

Where do pros usually stay when they are in Vegas? If they are paying for hotels then 3 weeks of that adds up.

prize money is weak, the importance and prestige of the events have diminished, etc. still usually fun to watch the one pocket

Well, the Sahara was saying I could stay on for $59/night including the $56 resort fee, so it might not be so bad after the tournament people are gone.

True. I think it is fairly new and at the north end of the Strip, so they are trying to build up fans. My room looked new and had some interesting design features. There was a mini-fridge but sadly, no coffee maker/water heater/microwave.

Six of my young guys rented a Time Share for $400 week during the BCA Event. It was about a mile away from the Westgate. It had all the beds for six and a full kitchen etc. Apparently Time Share rentals are much cheaper than AB&B rentals.

Hilton seems to have a bunch of such properties that it is trying to sell. There is one in Orlando just north of the Caribe Royale. I looked for one in Vegas but couldn't find one cheap and late. The last time I stayed in one, it was cheaper than the casino hotel by a lot and had three bedrooms. (You also didn't want to walk around in your bare feet. ) I avoided the sales-pitch meeting.

Seeing as how most backers are degenerate gamblers, and soft comps like room & board are abundant in vegas, I would hazard a guess to say they get it covered.
