A buddy of mine that's a pretty good player came over today. We played some 9-Ball and then he sort of introduced me to One Pocket. Seems like an interesting game, alot of strategy involved. Once we got down to the last 3-4 balls it took a while to finish off that rack.

Oh, and before anyone asks, he was interested in playing on the new Diamond Professional and checking it out. I don't think either one of us was bearing down like it was the finals of the US Open. He has played down at the Derby City before

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know I now have been introduced to One Pocket.

Nice. Practice a light break .. take ball in hand and try to run as many as possible. From there you will learn the why’s and when’s. You will love the game. I promise you.

Good for you.
You'll love the game.
Find one pocket specialists to play.
There are a lot of books on one pocket but playing it is the only way to get better.
Takes a while to really see and understand the table in one pocket.
Persevere. It's worth it.

Find two friends -- one who does not mind coaching you as you play and another who does not mind playing you while you are being coached. No substitute for having a knowledgeable person in your ear/over your shoulder as you are doing it.

if you make one on the break its yours and you keep shooting. that's part of the break. just like 9 ball.

they kind of changed the rule just for the pro tournaments as some cried. so all the idiots that can barely play the game and don't know how to break just follow along with it.
same with racking for yourself.

Seems necessary in rack your own. But opponent rack the ball should count IMO.
