EUROPEAN OPEN 2026, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, March 10-15

Go time for Moritz, he needs to string together some racks now.
Moritz' position play has been masterful in his rally to within 7-5. Hell of a final.

I hope Souquet is watching, for this is the kind of pattern play we always saw from Ralf.

In rack 18, Moritz had to play safe for the first time in about 45 minutes, but nailed it. What a clinic this has been. Leads 11-7.

Moritz goes wrong on a safety in Rack 19 but so does Mario. A great two ball by Moritz sets up the runout and he's now on the hill, 12-7. This is some of the finest pool ever seen in WNT play!

Eureka. Moritz misses the five ball in rack 20. First miss in over an hour. Leaves it tough and Mario misses. It's all over. Breathtaking! Well done.

Well done Moritz!!

It's not the first time in the last year that I see He start strong and can't finish.
I think he should loose weight and work out a bit, I think his body is getting tired and he can't keep top form for a whole day. It might have been a non-issue in the past but it will get harder with age. I am past 50 and obese and I know what I'm talking about... I did loose weight in the last few years and everything is easier.

Virtuoso performance. That’s all there is to say. Mario played great, but he never got a chance at the table after 7-2.

Only performance I’ve seen better was when Ko Ping Chung won the U.S. Open. He blanked Yapp, if I recall, and rolled over Gorst 13-6 in the final after falling behind 6-3.

Inability to finish had nothing to do with this match. Moritz denied Mario a single shot for over an hour.and broke and ran most of the racks.

Ditto. The level of execution, especially the quality of the position play, was historic.

Finals begins at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
Central Europe is 5 hours ahead until they themselves go on summertime at the end of the month this year. It’s always a schedule juggle when the clocks change, having weekly work calls with the Europe and Asia regions or any country that have a different time zone schedule, if they switch at all.
