In my opinion, you should have your voice too bro, why don’t you type out what you have to say. I would also love to see it, we have chat and talked. However, I would like for you to go back n see our chat.
Like I said in our conversation, once you tried to fix that cue or modified that cue then I’m no longer have anything to do with it. You went and messaged me on wanted to sell it for 3850$ and i told you, i will buy it 3100$ then have it fix. If i sold more than that, then I will send you the 200$ afterwards as you wanted. However, i must have the cue in my hands on the cue to inspect how badly damaged it is before I can pay anything. That’s the most fair thing anyone can offered to any cue has problems. Look back at the chat buddy. Read what you said, you used dental tools to dissect the finish from the leather. Hence that’s where all these issues came from. If you sent your me, I would have my guy wet sand it, apply a finish coat on it and done. But now, the whole cue will need to sand down to its wood.

Do you have a theory as to how getting finish off the wrap caused the bubbling and loosing of the finish?
Actually I would not know, But I can have my refinish buy to fix it. Shouldn’t be hard to do, but I’m not qualified to go them. Knowing is one thing but having experience or knowledge to fix issues is another thing. Would you agree??

I'm no expert, just don't see how doing anything to a wrap would effect a decently done clear coat finish. He shouldn't have worked on it, but the finish shouldn't have bubbled off if it was a decent finish.

Then again, I know so little that I don't know if this cue started with a clearcoat finish.
It was fine.
The clear might have bleed into the wrap n when the guy buffed it, the compound got on the wrap. Hence it like that, but either way, the cue should send to professional repair not from 40 experience player n thinking know how to repair it.
The differences on the 1st 3 and the last is day n night.
My guy can wet sand it then Buff it or
clear coat it again and wet sand it, then buff it. That will fix it. Even Pete jr gave a 150$ estimate on this repair n I’m ready to get it done.
But the guy wanted a new wrap incase it needed to change. I told him I’m not paying that 400-500$ extra on the wrap, that’s when he started to dissect the cue with his dental tools n razors.

All of this is a reason why I would never trade cues except in person-never!
Did you tell Kenny that you were going to hit it with a razor blade before you did it? If you did, did Kenny say go for it and regardless of the outcome of the razor blade, he would buy it back etc.?
This is the best intelligent question I can ask.

Whoever put the finish on in the 1st place is a hack and shouldn't be anywhere near a cue, I wouldn't trust them to put the cue in a case.
Shitty situation all around but I don't know anybody who wants a cue with finish overlapping the leather, Kenney should know better and magoo should have called it out and come to a resolution before attempting a fix.
Seems like Kenney is trying to be reasonable, and magoo is seeing himself as a victim of the forum when I don't think thats the case at all.
Seems like you two can come to a solution without anybodys reputation being damaged.
Take it back private until a solution has been made and if either still feel wronged come back and tell your story.

I gave him my Solutions but he didn’t want to take it. 3100$ and 200 more after i got estimate from repair like proficient or Pete jr. I will pay once i see the cue or have it in my hands. Thank you for the question.
After trying to reverse the trade twice, I was persuaded to keep it and except kens compensation.
I decided to leave the crappy finish on and use as my main player until it needed a refinish from endless amount of play.
Ken gladly agreed.
So, If I was going to play with it, in this condition, at tournaments and league, as i have, people are constantly asking me what happened to it and why it was in this condition.
I then decided on my owen, to at least try to make it look a little better.
Under a bright light, with the cue on rollers, using a magnifien glass and a steady hand holding a straight razer, I very slowly rolled the cue while cutting the finish, in the Crack, between the leather and wood. Idid it perfectly without cutting nothing except the clear coat.
I then proceeded to carefully lift off the clear coat left on the leather with a dental tool, the end being like a needle but with a handle.
Not to brag, but it worked perfectly except for a few small spec of dye that came off with the finish.
I anticipated this may happen so I lined up leather worker (for lack of a better word) to stripp the dye, then reapply the dye, seal and polish.
In no way shape or form did I damage anything.
that plan is now out window, because the finish on the wood automatically just lifted off the wood, turned all white underneath. so I very easily scraped off the loose, separated finish with my fingernail. The 4th picture of kens is the results.
The finish on the leather was a 1/8 inch band going completely around the handle, it was definitely not bleed through.
Same. Would not trade or buy/sell. Not worth the agg.

I never give the guy an ok to modify or repair the cue on his own. I even tried to help, yet he called me a liar. Yeah ok,
That’s why I shouldn’t even try to help.
