I finally played Ultimate Pool

Since you are a run out 8 ball player on a barbox you should give it a try.
Why? I'll never make it on the Mosconi Cup team if I did that.

I don't like the barbox, and I don't like the game of 8-ball, so I see no point in combining the two. I also don't like league. It's just not for me, and that's okay.

My two cents:
- I've played in all of the leagues and UPL is definitely my favorite.
- The shot clock and match clock are awesome.
- Not having to commit to playing all night is great. You can coordinate with your captain and play first if you have an early morning or play last if you have dinner plans.
- The prize money at Nationals is lightyears ahead of any other league.
- Only pet peeve I have is when someone is intentionally milking the shot clock because they "think" it's a good strategy for them.

You're right. Stick to what you're doing now and you'll be on the team in not time!
Thanks bro. All I need to do now is become best friends with the captain and not travel to international tournaments with elite competition. Just the bare minimum, nah mean?

Why is that? SVB, Bergmann, and Styer have all been Mosconi Cup players, I don't think that will hold you back.
They were on the MC before UPL came along. It won't hold them back, but it definitely won't help them in terms of competition. But hey, if they're having fun then that's all that matters.

Based upon your current geography enjoy not playing much.

How bout 9 ball on the 7 ft? Why don't you give the Stevie Chan a go.

I would hope there is more to your game than criticizing players on live streams that have the stones to actually play.

I played a full league season last summer, probably will again this summer, it's just too far of a drive for me to commit to it in the winter.

I think it's easy to look at one or two rules and think they are silly, but in general I feel the whole package works well together.

In general, I'd say the rule set helps deter a lot of the questionable shots and fouls that we often see asked about here, which is nice when there is no ref available. The only real issue I ever encountered was the guys who didn't bother to read/understand the rules before the league started.

It really is designed to keep the game moving. Even down to how much easier the balls break with the 8 on the spot. It definitely reduced clusters and safety play.
2 other rules.
A defensive shot e.g. playing a designated group legally to pocket an opponent's ball. (you can't hit your solid and pocket your opponents stripe)

Failing to "Play Away" from a touching / frozen ball(s). (proven you can hit into and not "play away" from a touching ball and not foul)

I'm not sure I'm reading you right, but you can use your ball to pocket your opponent's ball. It's just a loss of turn if none of your balls go down.

Or are you referring to the rules after the break on combo shots?

I'm not sure I follow on your first point. You can absolutely hit your solid and pocket your opponent's stripe. You just lose your turn at the table. Just like BCA.

Edit: Looks like I'm late to the party...

Who did I criticize? I enjoyed watching our fellow AzB member easy-e participate in the tournament. I have no interest in watching pros play in it however. And who are you to say who I'm allowed to criticize or not? Professional pool players are public figures and open to anyone's criticism.

There are 9ft tables in Colorado so I don't see the need to play 9ball on a 7ft table. However, there are not many 9ft 9ball tournaments, which is okay, it is what it is. That's not going to "force" me to play on a barbox. It takes stones to play in a UPL event? Lol. All it takes is an entry fee brother.

But yet you feel a need to comment negatively on it every chance you get.
Is there a problem? This is an open forum last time I checked. I was merely pointing out that Team USA playing on a barbox 8ball tournament will do them no favors at the MC, and I have no interest in watching them play when they can't even compete with the elites in normal conditions/tables. It's okay if you don't care about pro pool and only enjoy the amateur side of it.

You took a shot at Trent Scheele on the Piazza's Open live stream.

Please point me to where I said who you can and can't criticize. You can do whatever the f you want even if it is in poor taste

Let me see if you can understand my position a bit better. You choose to not play with a myriad of excuses. I give those way more respect that put themselves into the fire even if over their heads than anyone who sits on the sidelines talking shit.

Who the F is Trent Scheele? Never heard that name in my life. Can you show me where and how I took a shot at this person?

You think the reason I didn't play the Piazza Open is because I'm terrified? Lmao okay bud. If the Piazza Open was on 9ft tables playing 9ball, I would've happily paid an entry fee. I don't get what you don't understand about that. I chose not to play because it's my...choice.

I'm sorry but playing barbox 8ball is not putting yourself "in the fire", nor is playing VNEA/BCA/APA/UPL. Now stop crying.

You are the one who is crying & afraid to play hiding behind the guise of it's a 7 ft table.

Your words "As easy as 8ball is on a barbox."

If it's so easy get in there & take the money down. Oh yeah it's your choice

Plenty of strong players in the region play in league sanctioned tournaments both local and at the national level. On the other hand there are a few very strong players that do not.

Look forward to seeing you play on the pro tour!!

No one is afraid to play on a barbox bro, idk why you would think so. And what exactly did I cry about? Why don't you come to CO and we can gamble on the 9ft'er? Now that would be putting yourself in the fire.

I'm guessing you missed the part where Joe Prince won the Piazza Open 6-0 and 5-0 in the double elimination finals. No amateur stood a chance.

And you still haven't provided any proof of your accusation against me.

I can't tell if you need a tissue or a cigarette.

Idk why you're so upset at my opinion that barbox 8 ball is easy.
