Wow!!!! What exactly did he not understand about the ball being 2 1/4" each in diameter?? He is using the absolute worst measuring tool possible to measure that point to point opening. One has to check every tape measure to see if the tab is accurate. The Diamond is hardly "slightly" larger; 0.25" difference is quite a difference.
Pockets are always measured point to point. I was debating a guy on Facebook that his table had 4.25" pockets based on the pics he posted. I wish I were making it up. He died on that hill.

Use this link. What do you get from both tables?I think I will go and measure my pockets on the Diamond and the Gold Crown IV again.
When you use the "Ball Measuring Method" it appears the Diamond is about 1/8" inch larger than the GCIV. That's where you put two balls between the facings.
I'm not really how to interpret all of this pocket measuring stuff. It is what it is, I guess.
Measure with a damn ruler between the points. Only way to get true dimension.I think I will go and measure my pockets on the Diamond and the Gold Crown IV again.

here is a schema in the video on how to measure the pocket sizeI think I will go and measure my pockets on the Diamond and the Gold Crown IV again.

I suspect that his problem is not his tables, it's his expectations. They're kind of rediculous. What about everyone telling you your table isn't the problem with your break?
1: This isn't meant as shade but this means it's not a table problem. I'd suggest either getting an in person coach or at minimum talking to good breakers at a pool hall and ask them for tips or to explain how they are getting good spreads.I've had the new table one month now. And so far I have noticed three things about this new Diamond Professional.
First, sad to say, the break still doesn't seem to be working for me. Similar results to the Gold Crown IV. Not sure what to do about this dilemma.
Second, those that said I would hang balls up in the pockets because of the deeper shelf were mistaken. At least so far. I have not really seen this happen at all at this point.
Thirdly, I seem to have more success on running out when I do finally get a ball down and have a decent spread. When I say I have more success it's not much more but it does seem to be the case.
Granted the pockets are slightly - SLIGHTLY - bigger than the Gold Crown and the cloth is still fairly new so we shall see how all of this plays out.

My wife had some kind of true color type bulbs she used for crafting/sewing and such. They are LED and they look really good on a pool table. I honestly can't remember the name but they sell them at hobby lobby and also most big box stores.By any rules in particular or racknsmack?
Try 100 watt equivalent LED bulbs. And white light brighter to me.
CHANGE THE FIXTUREAnd I don't think I want to put anything more than a 60W bulb into this light. If I recall the instructions said not to use anything over that.
Warm colors are supposed to alleviate eyestrain and other maladies but for pool, I like the clinical fluorescent /LED look. Incandescents are a touch depressing to me.My wife had some kind of true color type bulbs she used for crafting/sewing and such. They are LED and they look really good on a pool table. What will help your break though? If the 60W bulbs don't help then that is the next step.

LOL "second, those that said I would hang balls up in the pockets because of the deeper shelf were mistaken." Ya what do all the people on here who play well and know the table specs know about shelves.I've had the new table one month now. You're new to this situation. He has taken lessons from everyone in Indiana and some in KY and he doesn't listen or change things. You should spend a little money and visit a top instructor somewhere. Have them check out your break, fundamentals .. etc. without any video we can only guess at what your problems are .. good luck!
On the Diamond, try taking some speed off the break.I don't know. Been wondering this for years and years and years.
An exorcism, perhaps?
