Nah. There are easier, cheaper, more accurate, more effective and clearer ways to train for accurate cue ball delivery.
Some gadgets are very useful. This hoop thing is not one of them.

I found the ultimate aid about fifty years ago. It has six pockets, tighter than any pool table. Far more theft proof than any of these gadgets I see. A snooker table turns the trick! If you want square pocket corners, I think a russian pyramid table has those.
No idea what they cost now but for under twenty bucks, hard to beat a laser level. Line up head rail and foot rail, a tiny chalk mark on each one Spots exactly inline to put the cue ball and another ball on and hit away. Move the dots on the line around as skills increase or if you are really a glutton for punishment, add another dot!
The laser level is handy for other things too. Even most wives won't argue when you put something on a beautimus line!

I also agree it is gimmicky and probably not useful for most people. But like many pool training things, some folks will find it useful.

Just because I'm a new member doesn't mean I just started and don't know a thing or two about pool. He's the one talking trash about something he's never used. If anyone is throwing anybody under the bus, it's him. Apparently in all his years, he's never learned from his parents that if he has nothing nice or useful to say to not say it?
This is a discussion forum. Bob’s expertise is beyond reproach. IMO he was not trashing it , more saying there are better options. Your sensitivity seems to suggest you have some attachment to this training aid. Rather than call Bob out, how about you elaborate on why you think Bob is wrong. Again this is a discussion forum.
Did you not read what he said? He flat out trashed it. How do you not understand that? He has not even tried using this aiming aid.
If you're selling a used car online, and I comment and say, "Man, that car sucks, there's better, cheaper cars elsewhere". That's pretty rude of me to say that, right? Especially when I've never even tried your car out. But hey, this is a discussion forum and I can talk shit about your car, right?
We're all here because we like pool, right? I didn't know that it was a requirement to speak up and ignorantly talk trash about something a person is trying to sell.

Read every word and trashing is not what I took away from his comments. I read him saying there are better cheaper ways of achieving the same goal. And I would bet that Bob has tried similar devices and his opinion is formed by experience.

I will be waiting for your explanation on the superiority of this device and why Bob is mistaken.
I will be waiting for you to upload a video of you using that device and consistently making a ball through it without hitting it. Since you're a betting man, I bet you couldn't do it twice in a row!
It’s not my product. I have no need to prove your gadget works. And before I would spend money on a gadget, I would spend the money on taking a lesson from Bob.
I never once said this gadget is better than taking a lesson from someone. My point is to say that I don't know why anyone would trash talk something that can help with aiming when he has never used it. That's it. I totally agree that a lesson is the best thing to do. But not everyone is going to spend money on a lesson and may look into something different to help with aiming.
Which is why I suggested that you elaborate on the benefits and differentiation amongst the other options in the market.

Someone should start a post on internet-forum toxicity. AZBilliards would be included in that discussion. AZBilliards is toxic but also contains valuable information. As a mentor said once of a researcher who was a klutz, "even with with Gonzo, there are gems in his garbage articles". There are gems here, too.
