Gorst vs SVB, race to 40 for 20k

Scott Frost posted this challenge match announcement on Facebook today. He says this is just the beginning of a "king of the hill tour" where the winner will take on another challenger. He also says this will be streamed for free. Sounds exciting.
I wonder how Scott feels about Johan being picked as captain, especially after all that campaigning he was doing for the job and how tight he is with Matchroom.

I don't understand why they are gambling with each other when they will potentially be teammates in less than half a year at the Mosconi Cup.

They should be trying to match up with guys like Filler, Kaci, filipinos, FSR, Yapp, Shaw, Ko bros, etc.

This is why we always lose :ROFLMAO:

I couldn't help but be reminded of TAR. (The Action Report)
This could be a great thing for the fans.
Scott is a really good commentator, with him and Carl in the booth it should be a great match.

I don't think Shane & Fedor are the problem with your team. The problem is you don't have 3 more guys on their level.

The money guys are "just giving back" to the players and community? I don't know either guy but my BS meter is twirling like it's in a tornado.
He said the stream would be free, they weren't selling sponsorship (though the players could if they wanted), all players expenses paid, venue only seats special guests. They said fans would decide future matches. Only way I see they can make money is either fans text/call expensive number to choose next match up, or the thirty people in the venue are paying a fortune to be there. Scott seemed to be pushing their Facebook page hard, but is there really that much money in Facebook ads?

Confused by this too, seems unlikely some guys are just blowing money out of love for the game. Not sure how rich they are, suppose if they are billionaires this could be pennies to them. Or maybe it's one of those situations where you hope you can build a brand whilst losing money with the aim of monetising it later (a pretty risky approach to business).

I share your cynicism, though who knows maybe we'll be proved wrong. Scott seemed so keen to say how brilliant they are it was like he'd been inducted in a cult. Hope he doesn't get burned if it doesn't turn out like he's expecting it to

Filler is the only one that might be a favorite. Im sure both those guys would welcome all the action they can stand from the rest

And wtf does MC have to do with this?

I was replying to Kris' comment that they are going to be team mates in Mosconi Cup and they should be gambling with their potential opponents rather than each other. He said this is why we always lose. Apologies for not keeping it on topic, but I think it was a reasonable reply to their post.

I was only half kidding, as seen by the laughing emoji. There are a multitude of reasons they lose, but I'm sure this plays a factor in their team cohesiveness. They're not a single unit like we see with the Euros annually. It's more like "ahh shit we all got put on this team, even though some of us don't like each other, but fk it let's go out there and try to win".
