Hi All,

I know there has been many threads with tips before, but I wanted to get some feedbacks with these new tips on the market. I know its subjective but a few feedbacks would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have installed a couple Caiden tips for players, they seem to really like them. I will say as an installer they are very easy to cut and shape.

One thing I don't understand about these tips with different colored layers near the bottom: are they different materials? Or are they intended as a marker to let the player know when it is time to change tips?

I believe that Tiger tips says that they use it as an indicator for replacement.

I have used and really like the Ultraskin Ivory tips in Medium or Hard.
I am having a Caiden Fighter Medium installed on my new Keilwood shaft and can give an update in a few weeks.

Then what are they saying when stating on the package they are weather resistant?

Probably Engrish. I enjoy reading the description of cues on AliExpress.

But I bet this tip would work great on an outdoor table!

Well I am a Knocker of layered tips. Layers in Plywood are a plus, in a cue tip not so much. The glue layers is the problem.
If you find fly specks on whitey the glue layer is most likely the culprit. The glue departing the tip to stick on whitey indicates that traction was lost. Perhaps only slightly but that's too much for me. Yes I tried them and conclusion is it's a gimmic.
Triangle is my go to tip.
The big money in cue sports is playing snooker. I have never seen a top snooker player with a layered tip. There's a wide range of hardness that top players prefer. Mark Williams uses a very hard tip. The sound and profile are clues. Some use a much softer tip that has leather beyond the profile of the ferrule, like a 🍄. Personally I prefer very hard.

Spend $10 on a Thoroughbred. You can thank me later.
😎

I’ll second this. I had all my shafts switched over to Thoroughbred Medium Hard. Was previously using Kamui black, but it kept glazing over. And I had a Caiden fighter tip but found it was too elastic for my liking.
