What older players who still play have changed to CF?

Depends how old you are talking.

In pro pool, the carbon/wood ratio has more to do with region than age. Pretty much all the middle aged European players I see are using carbon, while in Asia there are even very young players using wood.

why what?

is using wood bad or something. c.f. shafts have not shown to be any great improvement in playing over wood shafts.

there are certainly good reasons for some to switch. like not being able to control squirt. which has never been a real problem with better players.
that is the only real compelling reason to change over. i said compelling.

why? seriously, why?
I think it would be quite telling. If a player after 50 years of playing with the same equipment makes a switch it must mean something. Would Buddy Hall or Ronnie Allen or any of those players if they were around today be playing with CF.

Mike Sigel, Nick Varner, Allen Hopkins, Johnny Archer and so on. All players that were around long before CF existed. What do they think? As many years as they've been playing do they feel it added anything to their game? Have they even tried them. I think it's an interesting question.

I'd think the #1"what do they think" is that it is the wrong color.

most change from advertising or following others they idolize using new products. not just because they are better.
starts young in life and carries on from there.

Someone said when they are traveling the cf shaft isn't affected...claiming wooden shaft warp. I like wood and haven't experienced that problem.

i would think that older players who play well are happy with their wood shafts and dont want to go thru the learning curve of adjusting to a cf shaft
older players like younger players who dont play so good are willing to try anything to be better
(except practice more )
