Questions About This Tip & Joint

Okay, I just purchased a new Cuetec Cynergy Nine Ball cue and I have a couple of questions.

First, is the tip shown an Elkmaster tip?

Second, are the joints the same? The middle pic is the new Cynergy joint and the pic on the far right is from my old Cuetec Starlight Earl Strickland cue that's over 25 years old.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Because I thought Elkmaster tips were blue. And I thought Cuetec had changed their joint material and they look the same to me.

I am trying to learn something here.

Are the shafts and butts interchangeable? Try the new shaft on the old butt. I doubt Cuetech would buy and import Elkmasters if they can manufacture a similar tip right at home.

They are not interchangeable.

Second, that's not what I asked. I asked if that tip is indeed an Elkmaster.

If you bought the cue new and didn’t request a different tip it comes with a sniper. If elkmasters are blue obviously it’s not moron.

Elk Master tips are 50 for $15 and are dark blue. Elk Master Pro tips are 3 for $60 and they look like what you have.

The tip doesn’t look like a standard Elkmaster (maybe a pro as someone mentioned as I don’t know those). It also doesn’t look like the Sniper that is supposed to come standard on it.

Iv'e only seen them in blue but looking at what you posted that tip has a similar texture.

There are many pics of Elk Pro tips on the internet, take a look & compare to what is on the shaft.

The mention of Elk Master Pro made me go look at them. Take a look at this picture. To my eyes that could be it.

And for the record, this Cuetec Cynergy Matchroom Nine Ball cue with this tip does have a sweet hit. Plays really good. Cuetec has come a long way the last 20+ years now.
