I find Predator PBS events to be considerably better product for fans than WNT events

This is, of course, part of the reason pool is so poor. If dedicated fans won't pay for anything, who will? I am happy to pay a annual WNT TV subscription so long as it works. I'd be happy to pay a Predator one, too.
Pool is not poor because people won't pay to watch it. Pool is poor because it's only interesting to people who play the game. (Actually, that's not even true. It's really only interesting to a small percentage of people who play the game. Most players don't watch it either.)

You might be right, but more people used to watch pool in the US and viewership in some places overseas seems to be pretty good. In any case, I am happy to subscribe to WNT TV and Billiards Digest. Doesn't cost me much to support the game.

Other than the ridiculous shootout they are good events. Glad they are bringing it back here to JAX in December, although bummed they moved the Women's World Championship.

Couldn't agree more.

There is room for all kinds of events and formats. I watch the Predator events, so ultimately I "vote" with my eyeballs.

With that said...

I would prefer that if two players are tied at 3-3 in the third and deciding set, they re-lag for the break and play one game as a sudden death playoff (instead of the spot shots which I find lacking and probably take longer than one rack would).

Which is better, the spot shot shootout or the Ultimate Pool 6-ball shootout? :p
