I am whoofing at the whole country (or maybe the Midwest) and maybe it’s more of a friendly bark

I understand you want to know who is coming into your house. It appears he is looking for more of a pool hall game as he cited 5-12 hours.

Heck, we don't know who comes into the hall to play, and it is much less awkward walking out of a hall with someone's cash than it is their house. Regardless of how nice the person is (and you seem to be very nice.) it is just a bad feeling gambling in someone's house or a house made to be a gambling place like a few places in KY and Southern Indiana have become.
I can RESPECT your OPINION. I suppose I am old and dumb.

This is why the guest typically gifts the host a bottle of Maker's Mark on arrival.

Does your pool room have a 700-plus Fargo-rated player that is willing to gamble cheapish? When I say cheapish, I mean $20 -- $50 / game one-pocket, or maybe short one-pocket races for $100 dollar sets, or something near this. There is no need to name him here, if you know of such a player.

Does this 700-plus player want to match up against an out-of-town, pencil-pushing, lawyer.? I am your huckleberry…maybe.

That’s right kollegedave is coming out of his basement to a town near you. Empty your bank accounts and get ready, or maybe just take $500 out and get a sandwich.

This is my proposal:

I will travel to you. In reality, I am probably confined to the Midwest, south, or mid-Atlantic, but if you live in the Northeast maybe something can be arranged for the right situation. I would propose we negotiate the game in private and not here, but I am not a 700 plus player. In return for playing cheap, I will offer a game that is slightly in my opponent’s favor (complete with references), and I will stand and fight.

I would like to play some long-ish sessions (5 – 12 hours), provided I can manage to not get blown off the table. I have privately made this offer to a few 700-plus local legends, and all of them are not interested. I am hoping that if I cast a wider net, maybe there is a player somewhere that wants a good-natured sparring partner.

I understand that players at this skill level often prefer larger action, sorry, that’s not what I am offering.

Soon-to-be slightly poorer,

kollegedave
Sergio is looking for you at Buffalo’s. If you have any money left we can play some

Also, Josh O’Neil at JOB probably will take that on.

Josh wouldn't want a game like that, and not sure Sergio is enjoying cheap games. Sucks because this OP deserves a GREAT game with someone. He's calling out the world, and I think that is awesome. If I was slightly better, I'd make a game with him.

Have you tried reaching out to Jeff Beckley from Indiana or Jordan Davis? Both are 700 speed, like to gamble, and they a lot of times play cheap sets at John Wayne's in Indianapolis during the day. Allegedly like $100 and $200 races to 9 or 11 on the bar tables. They also have 2 9ft tables.
