Seems like a good idea, Bob, for precisely that reason.

Some top players could get a notably tougher path than others. Realistically, though, anyone not seeded is going to be well outside the top 100 in Fargo.

The early rounds of major tournaments have always been a snoozefest of 9-1 type scores. Reducing the number of seeded slots makes watching the early matches much more viable.

I remember watching a guy playing Earl the first round at DCC on the TV table. He couldn’t make 3 balls. The guy probably played pretty good when not thrust onto the TV table with a legend.

I’m sure I would feel the same. Now playing a legend on a side table would be awesome.
