I know that this is possible but maybe not optimal, never tried it.
My main concern is the joint section, the shaft "has" to be flush with the butt. (Mostly for the aesthetic)
And maybe the overall balance of the cue.

If you read my previous post. "Mcdermott traditional carom shaft" I asked if someone could tell me the collar size of this shaft. My pool cue is 21.4mm (0.842)
Maybe i just getting tangled in a silly thoughts about this issue?
I know you are best off with the right tools for the job.
what are your thoughts about this? Do you play carom with a pool cue butt with a carom shaft?
Or should I just drop it and buy a damn carom cue
