Pool cue butt with a carom shaft.

I know that this is possible but maybe not optimal, never tried it.
My main concern is the joint section, the shaft "has" to be flush with the butt. (Mostly for the aesthetic)

And maybe the overall balance of the cue.
A 29 inch butt with a 27 inch shaft Hmmmm

If you read my previous post. "Mcdermott traditional carom shaft" I asked if someone could tell me the collar size of this shaft. My pool cue is 21.4mm (0.842)
Maybe i just getting tangled in a silly thoughts about this issue?
I know you are best off with the right tools for the job.
what are your thoughts about this? Do you play carom with a pool cue butt with a carom shaft?
Or should I just drop it and buy a damn carom cue .

It would look very nice though, this butt section with a carom shaft.

there is a solution to play carom with a pool butt : the Becue K shaft , you can choose the appropriate joint diameter (they offer a 21.3mm diameter which is fine for 21.4mm )

I think the joint measures to 22mm for the mcdermott carom shafts as opposed to thier pool shafts.

I know I'm just getting annoyed over the different in joint sizes

But I can do a little update. 8 years ago I traded an Adams carom cue with three shafts for a predator pool cue (something a regretted a lot) it turn out that he still had the cue left, so two days ago we made a new trade. I had a nice snooker cue that he wanted, and I got my old carom cue back

So now I got the right tools for job again.

I played 3c mostly with pool cue. If you try you will notice fast that pool cue butts are too whimpy and soft. They go "spaghetti mode" when you hit heavier ball hard. There is solution to that though.. if you really want to use pool butt.
I played with break cue(BK-2) butt and they are stiff and play fine.
