IMO its a LOT easier due to the grip. The cb slides too much on new cloth. Still doable but tougher.

Getting 'felt' on a pool table can have WILDLY different connotations.

After having been to the Simonis factory in Belgium, it became necessary to understand the distinction between felt, which is usually made of compressed, treated rabbit fur, that is used in casino gaming tables and wool cloth, which is used on snooker, billiard and pool tables.
We should all recognize the difference.

Wool and nylon. Old days slow cloth had more Wool. Newer faster cloth has more nylon. (I Think ). The Wool blends are easiest to get the ball up quickly. Probably due to more friction.

it has been used interchangeable all throughout billiards history. felt was a more common term in the past.
so technically it isnt felt. but it really is fine to say it. those that need to correct someone all the time
should work out more and get mussels.

and felt can be made with all sorts of fabric not wool. felt can be polyester and other fabrics with no wool in it.

even pool dawg uses the term.

It's not felt, technically.

In French, it is “tapis”, which literally means rug or carpet. There is a chain of pool halls in Quebec called “Tapis Vert” (or green rug). Of course their tables have blue cloth.
