Sky has played in just two WNT events this year. His money earnings are on track to be the lowest since 2013 excluding the pandemic year. He has been scarce all around and appears to have taken the Mosconi for granted.

Maybe he has valid financial or personal reasons, but it’s irrelevant to me.

Bergman, who’s a bit reclusive, has tried harder to get on the team and he has been bothered by how well the U.S. has performed. That’s the attitude I want.

Bergman has, of course, has also played in the Mosconi before. He is not a newbie.

Sky seems to treat it like a show. It is a show, but I want players to take it very seriously. Not because I want the U.S. to win so much. But because it’s great drama and TV for a sport that needs it.

I can't help but wonder what is Sky doing if he is not entering tournaments (and apparently also not practicing, ha)? I understand he has domestic responsibilities but presumably needs income also.

Was reminded how outrageously talented he is watching him run through the Loser's bracket on the outside streaming tables. Amazing player. Big fan of his and generally love his loose, care free attitude though can't help but wonder what could be achieved if he fully committed with his ability. Oh well, will continue to pull for him regardless of what is going on. Maybe he is or was getting a little burned out which makes sense really.

I’ll be shocked if this isn’t the team - SVB, Styer, Gorst, Bergman, Woodward.
 
And the Euro team - Filler, Alcaide, Kazakis. Moritz, maybe Shaw or any one of a host of other champions. Another mismatch!

Szolnoki has not qualified yet. The cutoff for the Mosconi is the Philippines Open.

A lot could still change. There is even a path for Filler to get overtaken by three players IF he lost in the quarters today. Highly unlikely but possible.

Unofficially, Filler (77,640) and FSR (61,275) are No 1 and No. 2 for Team Europe. Pecelj (52,170 as of this morn) would overtake Szolnoki (unofficially 57,885) if he wins vs Sanjin and gets to the semifinals.

Alcaide (now at 32,775 unofficially) could jump into the top 3 if he gets to the finals. He'd have 67,775 points if he was runnerup.

Vogel has a path, too.

A Euro winner of the U.S. Open, of course, would be No. 1 and automatic. Only Gorst can prevent that!
 
As of this morn, SVB has 58,000 points, Styer 27,470, Hohmann 25,050 and ... Gorst 24,870.

Gorst moves into second if he beats Capito. He'd have 34,870 and counting.
 
Cutoff for the Reyes is the U.S Open.

Can't believe Biado lost to Ralf Souquet! He still finished as the top Filipino player for Reyes Cup purposes.

Yapp will finish as the top Asian player unless Capito gets to the finals. As winner or runnerup up, Robbie would be No. 1

SVB is the top U.S. player. Gorst would get the automatic spot by getting to the finals.

Filler leads for the top European spot, but FSR, Alcaide, Vogel and Pecelj could all beat him out.
 
For the Reyes Cup.

Biado gets the automatic spot for top Filipino player.

Capito gets the automatic spot for top ranked Asian player.

SVB gets the top American spot.

FSR gets the top Euro spot
 
For Team Europe in the Mosconi, FSR and Filler are guaranteed two of the three automatic spots.

Pecelj is a clear third. Szolnoki could surpass him by getting to the Philippines Open finals, assuming Pecelj got knocked out early. Grabe, Kledio Kaci or Neuhausen could get the third spot by winning it all in Manilla.

The only thing I don't like about him is when I'm watching a match with commentary, my Alexa app responds every time his name is mentioned...
