Liability Insurance

I was about to open a small room in a small town and when I started looking for liability insurance I can even get a quote.
I literally was going to have 4 tables, no alcohol and no kitchen.
A few companies specify “no pool halls”.
WTF?
Who are you guys using and what did you list your business as?

Insurance companies do not like to insure certain type of businesses, they have that right. Have you found a local Independent Insurance Agent, who is a Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, Farm Bureau etc agent, tied to one company.

Most Independent Agents have access to many companies that are licensed with, and can shop for you with many carriers.

Wonder if the State Insurance Commissioner will be helpful, nice idea, would like to hear if they indeed could point person to companies writing Insurance for Pool Room?
 
there is a book called "Who writes what" which lists all insurance companies and the types of coverage they offer. Not all are licensed in all states nor write all lines state to state, that's why you need state specific info.
