when i put a new tip on i play with the whole 14mm thing unshaped to break it in and also to convince myself that tip anything doesn't matter much.
so after a short time i am playing basically full speed with the 14 mm flat new tip hanging over the sides of the ferral.
then shape it a small amount and play, and same results. little by little until its about where it should be and then dont worry after that at all.
lots of chalking, or only once or twice a rack or after a big draw shot, and all same with no miscues,
some of my tips are 50 plus years old and still are fine.
after a couple racks i dont notice whether i am using wrapped, leather or nothing on the butt. and still shoot my game.
shafts from about 12 to 14 the same. but i like 13 the best.
i have 10 dollar sticks up to thousands and play same with all as long as shaft is slippery without coating on it.
same with any different set of balls. and dont wear special shoes or worry about the lighting.
