Yes, the pacing makes this event a major snoozefest.

Of course, for the eight men and eight women that are into the mixed doubles quarterfinals, there is enough pool to be played today, but for everyone else, it's a long, slow haul.

Also, the link to the brackets isn't working for me, so I don't know the results or the match schedule for today for any of the three events.

This is a little painful. So far, this is a very poor event from a fan standpoint.

I think two matches per day is most ideal, it's probably better for the players to not be too burned out

Yeah I know it's only 1 on the winner's side, it should be 2 on the winner's side and as many as needed on the loser's side
 
SVB was in a dogfight, but he got the last bite in. He has struggled all week. Looks nothing like the dominant player he was during the big stretch of Matchroom tourneys in the U.S. No home court advantage and jet lag equal ...

Nasution played exceptionally well. His runout in the third set to tie it up 3-3 was a thing of beauty. Low robustness, but his Fargo is 804. He looked the part.

Got to wonder if it's because of all the events going on at the same time. That's a potential downside.

Yes, that's the reason, but why not have the men's and women's open singles run concurrently and then have the team event, which is how it was done at the Las Vegas Open. Of course, in my case, as I stayed in Las Vegas for just five days, I missed nearly all of the team event.

That runout was fascinating to watch. Great first shot to set it up. SVB had him locked up and he massed himself into position.
SVB kept rubbing his eyes. Looks exhausted.

yea, he's one of those strong regional players that don't travel all that much. when the world cup of pool was on he used to play in that. but earlier this year he made the finals of a WNT satellite event that was streamed on youtube. he beat szolnoki and regalario before losing to oi (best i've seen oi play)
 
I can't remember the last time I saw Shane in a shoot-out but he was looking like he couldn't miss. He did miss 1 though.

Great match overall, the last set and ending had me on the edge of my seat. Nasution is a hell of a shooter. Nice comeback by SVB, it looked like he was getting packed up in the 1st set. If he can survive that, I like his chances of getting to the Finals.

Somebody wake me up when something exciting happens in the doubles or women's events.

Agreed, he looks haggard. He’s getting older, balder, fatter. His match with Naustion is a good example, he looked frustrated, unhappy, and lots of negative body language and muttering to himself.

so don't have all the events going on at the same time.. it takes away from what's supposed to be a world championship. they didn't have to drag the women to vietnam and set up this jack and jill bs sideshow
