I have to wonder re: those Predator tables. Are the pocket liners plastic? They seem to spit back forceful shots hit straight in, much like a lot of early Gold Crowns (something the Diamonds never do).

they are made by the same manufacturer as gold crown (yalin). what have you seen one spat out in this event?

It does, but on the PBS website I see no evidence of these matches starting before 4AM. They still the women's matches to do at 2AM

the womens have times on their brackets? or how do you know this

this is another thing where predator events are behind, the long downtime. in WNT it's five minutes, next match, and same in ultimate pool (and they cram in an interview in between)

One suggestion I would make to the PBS is having a little asterisk or symbol next to the score on the bracket or results if it is 2-1 to indicate whether it went to a shootout or not. 2-1 vs 2-1 shootout are two very different scores.

Interestingly, Eight Ball was the third discipline (replacing 14.1) at the last Stardust tourney. Shorty won it.

Cool. Wish I'd seen it. I always liked Larry's style, but I didn't actually meet him until the 1990s. Larry often had a chip on his shoulder and it made him hungrier in competition.

Did you know that Irving Crane hated 8ball and once proclaimed it "way too easy for the top pros?"

A win against the 760+ tier would be a huge accomplishment, and big step in her quest to be competitive for the bigger international titles.

Savannah should not lose any confidence after the loss to legendary Han Yu. She got a set and kept it competitive. Savanah's game and her competitive pedigree are continuing to advance. Wishing her well.

Not an easy question. It' hard to separate Centeno, Han Yu, Chou, Wei, Seo, Amit and Liu. When the biggest titles are up for grabs, they are the ones to watch, but none of them dominate. They take turns at the majors.

In what may be the strongest final eight ever seen at a women's major, six of these seven (all but Liu) are on to the quarterfinals. Tianqi Shi (Farego 749) and Pia Filler (Fargo 726) join them, but against these six giants of the game, they must probably be viewed as longshots to win the title.
