Keilwood shaft order

What does the Hsu shaft do that is so special?
I don't know about "special", but they play really well for me. Stiff but still gives good feel/feedback. Lower deflection than standard maple shafts though not as low as carbon fiber which I've never liked.

I had my last one built to fit a specific butt and it was perfect.

They just work really well for me, and to my eye look great too.

Of course ymmv...

Haven't used them. The shaft came with 3 screw in weights with a hex wrench to add if wanted. The weight is add just above the joint. Some people maybe like a forward balanced cue others add to the butt end.

Just ordered a back up kielwood from Joss. I sent Stephen one of my extra wood shafts to duplicate the diameter and length of taper. Hopefully he picks out a nice piece of wood.
I love the kielwood hit and stiffness.
Tried carbon fiber but couldn't get used to the feel of it. It felt alien.
I have found at least one CF shaft that I finally like. The Kielwood shaft that I had was definitely stiffer than standard maple, but I don't know that I would say that the "hit" felt better than standard maple. I didn't think I would transition to CF, but I finally have.
🤷

Which shaft might that be?

The hsunami's are very high quality and Richard can customize it any way you want. Kielwood is inherently lighter . So for those who like a more forward weighted cue with shaft around 4oz , they should request it when ordering a hsunami. The hayakawa have a weight bolt system at the joint end so you can fine tune to the desired weight, from around 3.5 to 4.2 oz on mine. I feel the " low deflection " thing is not so important, learning how the cue ball behaves is where its at.

Believe it or not, it was the Konllen CFX shaft that came with the Konllen Maris cue that I ordered. My first go with a sub $300.00 cue, and I won a 20 to 25 man 8 ball tournament with the damn thing.
Go figure.
🤷

I've got a couple of CF shafts coming for testing. I might part with one of them in the future...3/8x8 radial pin...I don't know that I need 3 shafts.
We'll see.

I can't keep up with all of the shafts being marketed much less all of the chalks and tips.
Can't and dont want to try them all if any at this time.
I still play wood shafts albeit kielwood now and I still use hard pressed Triangle tips on my kielwood.
I switched over to the Taom green chalk though. Much cleaner.

I still use the Magic Chalk green. I've got about 10 cubes left. If I go through those, I will probably have to switch to something else. Not sure if I can even still find it.
