    Burls and Flame

I bought a set in blue from you some years back and can confirm these look just as fantastic in person as they do in these pictures. Top notch dye work.

    Ricco Cervantes cue information

I can’t help you but I’ll caution you to do any business with his son. Who ripped me off for a few hundred bucks over a buyback of two of his dad’s cues I had. I’ll admit partial fault for having a heart and sending the cues to him for partial payment and a promise. If you send this cue to him...

    What is this splotching? Hazing?

Others will probably be more helpful but is your mineral spirits old and funky. I’ve seen gross caking with older and contaminated mineral spirits.

    Frye? Paradise? Mayer? …Rich?

Did Rico Cervantes use that blunt pin early on? I don’t know why it immediately popped in my head. The butt and joint rings remind me of him but don’t seem exactly on brand for him.

First legit cue build. I've been extremely humbled.

    Video looks good. Nice build.

I jumped on board with the new McDermott/Chops collaboration

Boards break all the time. I assume this is just cutoffs from fresh stock. I have stacks of my kids boards that he’s broken. Probably a few dozen over a decade. Various colors. If I ever get around to doing this myself. I have a chops myself from the first run. Good cue.

Anyone in Texas to taper down a butt ?

I'm probably too late on this but Pete's Billiards is right there in SA and those guys can handle this job no problem. 2318 Blanco Rd. They are fully set up for all cue related work including custom cue making.

What would be a good two piece cue to make a break cue?

I’ve never tried those tips. I have a few purpleheart cues I’m finishing up and thought they would make good break cues. I ordered 3 of those tips. So we’ll see.

How steep is the learning curve

Super easy. Just a few videos some elemental trial and error and you’re good to go. Honestly if you have any basic rudimentary knowledge it’s barely a challenge. It’s almost self explanatory. You’ll be fine. Fear not.

    Hightower Cue For Brandi

So many times we see inlays and crosses that are disproportionate in size. This is really well done. The thin crosses with the smaller dots and ringwork are super clean and classy. Nice work.

    Lathe lubricant

This is what I use. A little on a paper towel, then wipe clean. Works great. Never had a problem but I could see an issue arising if you’re spraying around carelessly.

Up and coming cue makers to invest in???

Are we differentiating between someone attempting to full time it or hobbyists? I routinely sell cues for 400-700. Mainly just to continue to afford to get better. It’s not a career. I don’t feel that detracts from quality.

Identify this cue with "W" logo?

Worry about yourself. If you can’t handle these threads then close your eyes and go to your happy place with fire lakes and burning babies.
