First time I ever went to Vegas in 2000 went to the pool hall and Rafael was playing James Walden 1-pocket and they ended up playing for 39 hours. When i left at 7 a.m. they were playing for $500/game and i saw Rafael late that night they ended at $1000/game. Rafael won!
stevie shaw
I was told stevie shaw was known as the Albuquerque kid. He came through pueblo Colorado when he was young (maybe 14-16) and was told he was very strong on the bar table.
Joe Alvarez
I was told by several players in colorado, and I think that Joe is from Fort Collins, that he is pro speed for sure and was REAL GOOD for the "cash"!
The guy you are talking about is Charlie Lucero he is from pueblo, colorado and was know as "colorado charlie" in the 70's and 80's and from what I hear was one of the best in Colorado. He found religion and quit playing for a number of years and started playing again in mid 2000's.
