    Long Island/Rhode Island/Mass tournaments?

Long Island is no where near Rhode Island or Massachusetts. Raxx Billiards is where everyone goes for tournaments on Long Island. WPBA was there last month, and they're hosting the $5K added Ginky Memorial this coming weekend. Carom Cafe & Cue Bar in Queens NY attracts most of the...

Hypothetically: can a "regular" shaft be made LD?

There are many methods of lower deflection. Bob Meucci and his whippy shafts. Karen Corr was playing with a snooker cue. Check out Cuemaster98's postings about his fearless shafts. Tips glued directly to the shaft without a ferrule and displayed noticeable lower deflection. An issue...

    Super Billiards Expo 2026

Yes, I will be hanging out at the booth with a carom table. My spiel is there are no pockets on this table. You don't have to worry about scratching.

    Vintage Aurora Skittle Pool Game

Skittle pool commercial. *in my get off my lawn voice* No measle or spotted cue ball. You needed a stroke back then, and not nurse the ball into the pockets. No intentional safeties.

Unaware of mismatched ball sets in upcoming tournament.

If they put in all that effort, it doesn't make sense unless they ran out of money. I've seen this happen. Owner only did the front row of tables, and had the cloth flipped on the rest.

    More counterfeit balls

Other than XinBing (Dynasphere, Cyclop) and Saluc of Belgium, who else? So, I'm skeptical when someone casually mentions counterfeit phenolic, as picturing something you can whip up in a backyard shop in Taishan. Until XinBing entered the market, Saluc was the sole producer of phenolic resin...

Unaware of mismatched ball sets in upcoming tournament.

When Tony Robles ran his Predator Pro/Am tour, he would bring his own racks (Delta-13s) and even ball sets dependinng on the venue. Remembering when Aramith Crowns, not Super Pro or Brunswick Centennials were standard tier in NYC poolrooms.

Unaware of mismatched ball sets in upcoming tournament.

For those who don't venture outside of poolhalls, it's not uncommon to come across mistmatch sets in barboxes.

    More counterfeit balls

At this price per set, I'm guessing it's polyester resin not phenolic. Curious who could be OEM for these.

    Happy Chinese New Year

Vietnamese call this holiday Tet. If Tet offensive, then call it Asian Lunar New Year.

    Happy Chinese New Year

In Chinese, the word for fish (鱼, yú) sounds the same as the word for abundance or surplus (余, yú). This homophone is why the Chinese eat fish on Chinese New Year's eve dinner, and basis for the popular Chinese New Year greeting, "Nian Nian You Yu" (年年有鱼/余), which translates to "May you have...

McDermott cues in The Color Of Money

Prior to this thread, it was my understanding Joss cue were made up to look like a Balabushka. Tom cruise has a famous scene where he plays with 'Doom' and they didn't want to risk the real thing. Fast forward 50 years, and due to bad prop handling Kurt Russell unknowingly destroys a 145 year...
