So the Maple would be a veneer. Makes sense for stability.

I believe the Diamond would be a better table, but the Professional just doesn’t check off enough boxes for me personally. I have tried to talk myself into it several times now, but in the end it just isn’t the right table for my space. If it had ball return, I would even consider refinishing it...

Just to provide an update for anyone finding this thread. The only table manufacturers that provide a high gloss “piano” finish as a matter of course are Canada Billiards and Pharaoh. I found a couple of others that will spray a gloss instead of the standard satin finish, but it would not be a...

Exactly right. I am in the process of calling quite a few now. So far, Olhausen and Canada Billiards will do a gloss black for some of their tables. Of course, then I am getting away from professional tables. Nothing off the shelf to meet all of what I thought I wanted for sure so I will have...

Not a bad idea at all really. I do wonder if the cloth could be installed on the rails without damaging the edge of the wrap.

For me, it’s the sound. Nothing more than that. Probably due to nostalgia. It isn’t imperative by any means. I have a feeling that I see a pool table how many people on this particular forum would see an air hockey table. Something fun to play but nothing one would consider practicing beyond...

Well to follow up with you all. I contacted Diamond and they didn‘t know what a gloss finish is. So I guess that is out.

It is a shame more tables don’t have ball return. I don’t think this thread would even exist if the Diamond Professional had that option.

Thanks. It does look nice. It just doesn’t really get me any closer to the look I want over the GC.

Except where the 16’ arch is located, I have more than 17’. The head of the table will be at that sconce.

I will PM you. I was able to get an 8’ table in my last house because of what you describe. I had an opening and short wall at one end of the room. Unfortunately, I am not as fortunate with the long dimension of this room - Both real full walls at the ends. However, the width (short dimension)...

I was hoping to use shorter cues in the instances that required it. The wall will be 54” from the cushion. Right now, the ”furniture table” options I have in front of me are all going to be more expensive than the GC6. And that annoys me since I know that the GC or Diamond are better playing tables.

Right this moment, I am leaning to the GC6 while still looking at and considering various furniture table options. It checks off most of my boxes compared to others. The only additional concern is that option locks me into a 9’ table. While I want a 9’ table, my room is 17’2” x 16‘.

Got me curious. A couple places lists it at around 1,600lbs. Apparently, the legs are also metal. Although, I guess either way, the Victory is putting all the weight in a much smaller footprint.
