Sounds like you have an Oscar problem. People said the conditions were tough for Oscar (which they certainly seemed to be to me) and you said well Oscar won the first day (implying that the conditions weren’t tough on him). I responded that he apparently struggled one day one too but Raulito...
So the only comprehensive rule set that I know of that deals with CB fouls only is the CSI (BCA Pool League) rules.
The closest ruling I could find is below - although the CB is still on the table when the player picks up the wrong ball. Their ruling is the 9b goes back and it’s not a foul...
He picked up the 9b. They are apparently playing all ball fouls.
Ultimate conclusion after the argument was 9b goes down and BIH to Oscar.
Not sure whether the 9b should go down or respot. Otherwise clearly a foul.
I think the impact of new cloth is greater the harder the table. On a WNT tuned table once the cloth is old so many balls that “should” drop just don’t. I’ve seen 700+ players hang balls. So I would guess it’s multiple games in a race to 10 where it’s the difference between a win or a loss vs...
I watched all his streams this event without incident. Maybe you have to like or follow him on FB.
BTW if you have a Digital Pool account (even a free one) you could watch any match (except when the stream was messed up).
Mike Page posted something a few years after John made the switch. John dipped down for a while after the switch and then returned to the same rating.
I can also add that I had the great pleasure of watching John while he made the change. John plays out of the same pool room I do in Toronto...
According to the Digital Pool bracket, John shot 917.95. I don’t know how accurate that is, but I have no reason to doubt it.
I wonder what the highest ever tournament performance is?
