I apologized for using the term “plate”, when the correct reference should have been “pad.” The Lil’Chris video actually changing a tip sold me. My point is this: The cue tech didn’t recognize, or didn’t believe that the pad belonged on the shaft. The last comment was not needed.

Yes you are correct in that it’s a carbon fiber plate. Also, it’s referred to as the”tip silencer.” So - The Lil’Chris video was correct, and that there’s no secondary pad. I’ll refrain from saying that it’s a vault plate. Thanks for clearing that up. Going back to the original question, if...

You’re reading the wrong thread. Revo changed the configuration to a T bridge. This is the correct reference article: https://support.predatorgroup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005127953-Tip-and-Ferrule-Warranty-Questions

I have a wood shaft infused with a CF collar and a CF plate above the ferrule. Take a look at the uniloc joint. The collar was made out of carbon fiber. The BKII did not have that feature.

Did you read the Predator Q&A page? The BKIII is a wood shaft that has a carbon fiber component. The pad which sat atop the ferrule was a carbon fiber plate. The configuration was updated when the all CF Revo shaft debuted. The information I was specific to the BKIII and not the Rush and Revo...

That’s it - They’re certain that something was there prior to the removal/cleanup. The cue tech brought it out and asked if I’d put a pad on the shaft. The BKIII(3) was an advanced predecessor to the Revo, having a similar design and style. The BKII did not have that technology. The reason I...

Thanks Bro - I appreciate you asking for the pictures. I found the evidence that I was looking for: https://support.predatorgroup.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005127953-Tip-and-Ferrule-Warranty-Questions I have the proof that the vault plate “and” silencer pad was present on the original shaft...

    Predator Shaft Query

RESOLVED! I watched Lil’Chris replace a BKIII tip video. He had the original tip, which got blown off after several years of play. He took a fraction off the vault plate surface, prepped and installed a Taom tip over the vault plate. It doesn’t appear that a silencer pad was present. As...

That’s what I tried to explain to them. I’m not finding any evidence to show that they got it wrong again! I’ll upload a revised picture.

That’s an “after” when the original vault plate was removed, and you’re looking at the silencer pad. The ferrule was not cleaned up - They told me that the scratch marks could not be buffed out.

I’m back to clear up one last uncertainty. Another cue tech removed the cushion pad from the botched install, flattened the ferrule, and installed a new cushion, followed by a new vault plate. The tip was sanded down and glued. When I took a glance at the repair, I asked why would the vault...

    Predator Shaft Query

Yes - It was supposed to have been a silencer pad. The cue tech may have not sanded the surface down. He definitely didn’t prep the cue tip. We agreed to replace the silencer (change color) and add the vault plate. That’s all I wanted - To have your work done professionally and have this happen...

Sir - You’re a respected contributor. I will not offend or be offended by static. I found the person who could clear this up. I’m not appreciative of your opinion if you’re going to be critical and judgemental. Let this be the last word, and consider the matter closed.
