    Push Foul Explanation

I’ve gotten pretty good with deadening rebounds off the rails by striking the cue ball thick. It goes the same when you need to extend out a weird bank angle. I was playing the same guy later, when he thought that pinning the 8 ball next to his would stop me. I called him over to look as I...

    Push Foul Explanation

You’re on point. I’ll fix my tip on one point, and shift it to suit what I’m trying to do. I like to use terms like “thick and thin” but I can also hit a ball straight with parallel shift.

    Push Foul Explanation

Yes and all that - Brutal “must watch” and definitely not incidental contact.

    Push Foul Explanation

He pivots during the follow through. The tip catches up and strikes the cue ball a second time. It’s more of a double thud. He recoiled so quickly once that I had to double take and say something like”why are those other balls moving sideways? Heck I don’t know.

Self denial then remorse after watching Dr Dave’ explanation.

    Push Foul Explanation

Not if you’re wiping the cue ball on your follow through.

    Push Foul Explanation

Yes - His cue stick literally swiped the cue ball. He called it BHE motion. The cue was clearly striking it a second time. I asked if he wanted some advice on some of his misses. I’d rather not get into his game, so I said that I’d call it next time. Fair warning?

    Push Foul Explanation

I’m looking for direction to help a friend and competitor understand how unnecessary back hand english can lead to fouls. He has what I call a “Yip Stroke” in which he decelerates and then accelerates his stroke through the ball. The strike is more of a thud - You can see the tip deflect and...

At what would you question “non obvious” call pocketing?

What would you say if someone had told you that a covered ball was obvious?

At what would you question “non obvious” call pocketing?

No he didn’t call the pocket. Initially he called “10 ball” to which I asked where? He told that I should have known that he was going for the corner pocket. I told him “No - Not with the 15 partially covering the 10 ball. I guess that we need an explanation of what is obvious.

Is the intent obvious? Yes Is the 15 ball first contact? Yes You could have whiffed and the hit four corners. If the 10 drops then it’s a good shot. Not calling the 15-10 combo leads me to stop and ask the question. Delays the match but it’s good.

True this! First reasonable explanation for this. Out of courtesy, please tell me what you’re doing, and leave me to interpret your actions. I’d rather keep the game moving! 👏👏👏🏆

I got it! 😋 It’s the interpretation and not the rule. You’re telling me that you don’t need to call combos. I get it!
