A hard tip but not too hard?

I LOVE Thoroughbred Med-Hard tips. Great feedback with a firm hit. Great sound. Not at all like a break tip.

    Replacing Threaded Ferrule Question

So, if I'm replacing a threaded ferule do you... 1 - Turn down the tenon to the proper size and run a threading die over the existing threads, and use a bunch of epoxy on the new threaded ferrule to fill the voids? 2 - Remove the old tenon all together, drill the shaft for a replacement...

    Break Shaft

Just FYI. You can get a whole Schmelke Purpleheart break cue for like $225-250. https://www.schmelkecue.com/jb11-puerpleheart-jump-break-cue-1.html Or just the shaft: https://www.schmelkecue.com/pcr305-4-purpleheart-break-pool-cue-shaft-3-8-10.html Never had one, so I can't speak to the quality...

Three 3 Best Cue Makers in the World

For SURE! Richard is a stand up guy, and a heck of a shooter. Had the pleasure of him kicking my butt a couple times!

Three 3 Best Cue Makers in the World

I'll be honest, I read the title, and the first page. Couldn't contain my enthusiasm and posted a reply. Didn't read the drama.

Played Saratoga for the first time today!

I have a lot of fun with Saratoga. Been trying to spread the word as much as possible. The only problem I have with it is that if you do a typical 9 ball style break from the rail you seem to pocket a wing ball every time. So maybe make people break from a box. But a really fun game!

Three 3 Best Cue Makers in the World

Maybe I'm biased as I play with one. But Richard Harris with Bluegrass Cues makes the most beautiful, elegant cues for my money. He finds the richest wood and the old school micarta for the ferrules that just make an amazing package. His cues belong in a mahogany lined gentlemen's club where...

    Predator table review, 2024 Expo

Yeah, I'm not surprised to hear that. The room here that uses Predators is VERY well maintained. The cloth looked great at the beginning. Looked like Simonis, but felt a little rougher to the touch to me. Played great. But after a few months of league it is looking pretty rough. Seems to catch...

    Predator table review, 2024 Expo

We have a pool room locally that have all predator 7' bar boxes that we played league on this past season. One other room has 7' Diamonds, and the rest are all valley's. Nearly everyone's opinion that I've talked to is that the Predators are like a a Diamond and Valley had a baby. They have the...

    Jump Cue Recommendations

Thanks. I like the idea of the extension, and a hand built cue. Thanks for the recommendation. Never heard of Henshew.

    Jump Cue Recommendations

Imagine if you will... You're a 550 Fargo player. You jump ok, Prefer a dart technique. And the wife gives you $300 for a birthday gift to get a dedicated jump cue. What's you're pick?

    Cool old Brunswick literature......................

Check out pages 38-39. Other than the super racists cartoon at the top, the other interesting thing is they make a point to state: "We employ no child or female labor" Hard to imagine the days when that was a concern.
