I thought some people might be interested in seeing this magnetic cue chalk holder I just made for myself. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I had been planning this design out, in the back of my mind, for months.
It has two .116" x 1.116" neodymium magnets in it and has suede lining on...
I used these. It definitely looks better than having lighter colored scratches and I think it compliments the hammer strikes on the rails nicely.
If anybody asks I'm going to tell them that it has a rustic patina and it gives the table character.
I'll buy a nicer Gold Crown to refurbish in the...
I see what youre saying. It's not perfect but I've already called it good enough and moved on. I did use a sanding block. But the neoprene grinds away much faster than the cushion rubber and it all flexes. I am an amature.
Here's the same cushion with cloth.
In my subjective opinion, I think these 3/8" 50A neoprene facings are just fine. I can't feel any difference between the Suprespeed softness and the facing when I poke them with my fingers and I'm not enough of an expert to detect the difference between this and my unmodified table while...
I haven't actually played on a table that had this modification done. I was under the impression that using this softer neoprene will make it react more like the rubber cushion, as compared to just stacking the regular harder rail facings. Have you played on a table that had this modification?
I'm installing 3/8" rail facings right now on my Gold Crown III. I'm using 50A Neoprene. I've seen people say that most people won't be able to tell the difference between these and subrail extensions.
I've never done this before. How's this look? I'm test fitting them and waiting on new cloth...
Another important step is that I drilled shallow holes into the rail, so that the set-screws can pass through the back of the L-bracket. I used an L-bracket that I had drilled but not tapped yet, as a drilling template to transfer the hole locations to the rail. It's difficult to drill those...
I left the casting slightly proud, intentionally. To help protect the edge of the laminate. But I could lower it more or raise it more or change the angle. The curve of the casting doesn't precisely match the curve of the rail, so I just dialed it in where I thought was best.
You can dip or raise the corners of the casting any way you want. I didn't modify the casting itself. As I was adjusting the position, in the end it is more tipped towards the pocket than it originally was. But before the modification, the edge of the casting appeared to dip away from the...
Here's how to make your Brunswick Gold Crown I / II / III pool table corner castings fully adjustable, so that you can make them sit as level and as flush to the rails as possible.
I made this modification based on instructions I got from realkingcobra. It worked perfectly for me. I can very...
Hi! I'm new here. I've been reading stuff on this forum for years. Thank you to everyone for the helpful information. I just purchased a Brunswick Gold Crown III and a I'm getting ready to set it up. I was able to disassemble, transport and set up my last table with no assistance, thanks to...
