    Zero-X system???

I also purchased and downloaded videos. His presentation is fantastic. Something about his tone, the way he speaks, his explanations, etc., makes things easy to understand. Highly recommended. I am ordering his book as well.

    Don't hate on the leagues

Sounds like league and tournament choices are a little limited in your area. If so, that is unfortunate and I might feel the same as you if this is the case. Lucky for me, there are plenty of league options and tournament I can choose from. Something to fit pretty much every kind of pool...

    Don't hate on the leagues

Agree 100%. Some people are so selfish they only care about how they benefit and/or complain if they don't get their way. They seem to think all businesses are making tons of profits and can afford to give out charity to everyone. Balance, give and take, are foreign to them.

    Don't hate on the leagues

x amount of games to be active is an attempt to control sandbagging or one timers coming in under rated, winning money and leaving. dues cover flight, hotel and spending money ? what do you think all that adds up to per person ? I know some leagues pay for the season winning team to play in...

    Don't hate on the leagues

I understand how you feel. However, leagues create a certain comradery among people who play in them by excluding non league members from participating in league events. I even see this in area tournaments too. To enter a Tri State or Predator tournament you pay the entry fee, but also a 1...

    Don't hate on the leagues

You are upset because you are not in the league and the league will not let you enter their league tournament ? Really ? Maybe I am misunderstanding. Is this a league tournament or an open amateur tournament ? I know some amateur tournaments are suspect of entrants when they cannot verify...

    Grip vs. Elbow

I agree with this. Online discussions in an internet forum will never replace live in person lessons, but I do think it is odd to respond "go find an spf instructor" in the "Ask the Instructor" section.

Do you have to play for Cash?

I feel the same. I enter tournaments for competition. I am pretty friendly with everyone and want to keep it that way. Everyone has a different $ point when it gets serious for them. Some play money games when they shouldn't.

    The true cost of hustling

"No players (hustlers) equals less business." Really ? The Hustler was in 1961, The Color of Money was 1986. 55 years and 30 years ago. People refuse to believe market demands change over time because what they want, is no longer in big demand. When I look at pool halls still open in the...

    The true cost of hustling

IMHO, the current state of pool is 95% recreational and league play, 5% high level/pro play. The future, probably the same or even less pro play.

How much money should a Player spend in his home room each week?

Tough to put an amount on it when costs vary so much across the country or what people can afford. At my regular hall, I try to be generous with tips, order plenty of drinks and bring new players in. Pool halls are a tough business. I don't want my regular hall to close, so I try do my part.

    The true cost of hustling

Being good at pool is skill. Unfortunately for pool players, it is not a marketable skill that pays well. People with skills that allow them to make a comfortable living and have money left over to play pool for fun, what are they ? League players for example. Do you call them all sheep ...

    The true cost of hustling

People have a choice. Get a full time job and play pool secondary or play pool full time and work secondary so you can feed yourself. I see players doing all kinds of things so they can live/chase their dream. Work in a pool hall, give lessons, run or assist in a league or tournament...

Issues Blowing Up At The Tornado Open

Haven't read the article yet, but I believe money added based on qty of entries is based on theory of more entries brings more spectators (spouses, girlfriends, family, fans), who will spend money on other things such as food, drinks, souvenirs, entertainment, etc..

    The true cost of hustling

People in the area for a limited time..... can kind of see their motivation to sandbag or hustle. I have seen players join a league and dump their league matches to setup money games with unsuspecting league players. Whether or not the amount of money they win is worth the bother, their...
