    Warm-up stroke vs final stroke

In experimenting with my stroke, the latest thing I've tried is simply to do warm-up strokes at the speed I think I need to strike the CB, and then without pausing, do my best on the final stroke to maintain that exact speed. So my intent is that the last couple warm-up strokes are identical to...

HELP I have a glitch in my stroke

I'm also trying to correct problems with my stroke, so this topic is of great interest to me. If a person does have, for instance, an outside-in stroke problem, I could wonder whether repeating the same shot 50 times would tend to make the shooter learn to compensate by aiming differently? As...

    Time to face the music

I don't have a problem with their comments. I was at the recent SD tour event, and heard a pro mutter something after a miss like "these pockets drive me crazy." I liked hearing the words I've thought so often. I'll guess Sarah and Melissa do restrain themselves from criticizing much of the...

Secrets to Racking the balls loose

"there is no controlling legal authority ...." Okay, leave it for a newbie to naively post the rules: "The object balls are racked in a diamond shape, with the 1-ball at the top of the diamond and on the foot spot, the 9-ball in the center of the diamond, and the other balls in random order...

    Stroke question

I've heard that one good test of a stroke is to set up a fairly long straight-in shot. The other day I was trying this, with the OB a couple feet away from the corner pocket, and noticed that I got the best results when I completely relaxed -- and then lined the shot up, and thought only about...

Lee Vs Fisher in San Diego?

WPBA site just posted the final results. Shows Fisher won, followed by Lee, then Corr. Does that mean Fisher beat Lee twice consecutively?

Try this link: http://espn.go.com/sitetools/s/contact/index.html Are you still going to congratulate them on their programming decision, or are you're going to tell them they suck? ;) Or both. What is ICOC, anyway?

Who are the top five players in your state?

I'm too much of a newbie to make a list, but I'm hoping somebody will give us a Minnesota top 5. I will nominate Jimmy Wetch. :D

    Ask The Silencer 8-ball Questions

Thanks for clearing that up. One more -- The rules say that on each shot, the CB or one of your balls must be driven to a cushion (or an OB pocketed). Is an exception made, say, if the CB doesn't make it to a cushion because it strikes an intervening ball?

    Ask The Silencer 8-ball Questions

My friend and I try to play by the BCA standardized 8-ball rules. I've been playing for less than a year -- but if I understand correctly, a kick shot is where the cue ball first hits a cushion. I assume that kick shots must be called. What happens sometimes is an object ball will be near a...
