Reasonably priced, fairly cheap, vintage cues with the most amazing hitting shaft wood?

In the last 35+ years, I've had multiple cues with 12.5mm to 13mm factory maple shafts (not LD). I've tried 15 or so LD shafts, including kielwood, CF and others like OB Pro+ and Z3 / 314. I've always come back to the factory maple shafts and none of the LD shafts are in my 3x7 case. I would...

Does it have sharp points? I had a P704 made from the last of the D series butts with sharp points and a D9 styling just below the wrap area. Hit very nice, but again, I wish the butt was not as "flared / wide" and more forward weighted.

Also, I recently ordered a Kielwood shaft to my specs from this site: https://dominiakcues.com/shop/ols/all Was very well made for about $200. They seem to have a lot of options and grades for normal and roasted maple. One downside is I do not like inserts in my 3/8x10 regular or modified...

Reasonably priced, fairly cheap, vintage cues with the most amazing hitting shaft wood?

For the 80s / 90s price (and even today) the hard rock maple wood (NA grade AA) McDermott shafts setup with the usual 3/8x10 big pin thread is a great shaft for what you pay: I think some of the E series McDermott cues from the 90s still hold great looks and hit with many white and black...

Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

The golf course is the ghost equivalent you are looking for / playing against. Bobby Jones famously played against the course, frequently referring to his true opponent as "Old Man Par," rather than focusing on his human adversaries . By concentrating on his own game and minimizing mental...

"Skittles" colored ball sets (ala cyclop)

Yes, this is what I was trying to get across in my earlier post. From Gemini: Material Characteristics: Cyclops focuses on an 85% pure phenolic compound. Dynaspheres advertise their "Next Gen" resin as offering better burn resistance, a smoother surface, and higher density (maximum weight...

    New Dynaspeheres Set

Since Dynaspheres came out with the new lines (Vanadium replacing Bronze and other new sets), inventory has seemed to barely stream into the retailer's inventories. I was lucky to find one of the last Bronze sets on Amazon. I bought quite a few of the 6 triangle cue balls from...

Why is the APA so frowned upon?

Is fun when you find a fun team to play on that prioritizes / schedules approximate throw time (first two, second two or last two matches), otherwise you are: You could be in a bar over 5 hours almost every week while the host tries to get you to buy as much food and drink as possible during...

    New Dynaspeheres Set

Original Bronze set had a CB with no triangles. Vanadium CB has one. I have a Bronze set with an added 6 triangle cue ball. On one break at the tavern we play league at, the cue ball was launched off the table through an open door (it was summer time and the AC wasn't keeping up) and into the...
