Unaware of mismatched ball sets in upcoming tournament.

I think it was bad form to host a tournament with poor equipment because it just says they don't care about a number of their customers. Given that it was a tournament, there is likely more than one table, so that number has a chance to be a notable part of the bottom line for the host. And to...

In honor of my first follower on AZB

I'm sure the admins would say something like "we do not have the time or the resources to run a secure marketplace". This forum was not designed that way or with this specifically in mind from the ground up and they are a 3rd or even 4th party that many times removed from a transaction involved...

Unaware of mismatched ball sets in upcoming tournament.

In golf you always control your own equipment, including balls. It is the course / pool table and ball layout that you face that varies in conditions and challenges plus chances for luck (good or bad). "The rub of the green" is an idiom, often used in sports, referring to unexpected good or...

    Aramith Ball Weights

Maybe the buyer should double check his scale with 1, 3 and 5 nickels which should be 5, 15 and 25 grams?

    Aramith Ball Weights

Another interesting question is, given Dynaspheres Vanadium are ~$180 and the Aramath Premiums are $205, which one would players prefer playing with?

    Aramith Ball Weights

That range seems really light. Shouldn't all of them be at 6oz / 170g? My Dynaspheres Bronze / Vanadium are: Weight: 169 grams +/- 1,0g (5.96 oz +/- .035 oz) Size: 57,2 mm (2.25") diameter From AI: Aramith Premium pool balls are regulation-size (2-1/4"...

Tip Decisions... AZB Help me pick a couple to try Please. (and Thank you!)

@David in FL, which Wizard tips are you talking about as there seems to be at least two manufacturers making Wizard tips? I see this one (from a seller that has seen mixed comments about their products, I've bought G3 USA tips from them (good but not as good as G2 tips from Japan) - $6.00 per...

    Aramith Low end Billiard Balls

Love my Dynaspheres Vanadium set with upgraded cue ball. Good to see them start selling in the states, as until recently there was no USA distributor. I am seeing this set for $169 before any shipping or taxes. Where are people seeing them listed lower?

Less expensive Joss cues and quality?

What is going on with Joss' website?

    Attention A. E. Schmidt Fans!!!

Looks like the traditional McDermott but "fatter flare" vs custom cues (not sure what A.E. Schmidt's butt size specs are). Plus the decals are "eh" and I'll pass on the G-core shaft (McDermott factory maple or other factory maple shafts please). I would take a Viking Carmeli (has inlays) and...

Instroke cases now shipping with cheaper pocket clasps?

I'm on my second Instroke 3x7 Premier black case. The first one I had lasted a long time and didn't have any issues with the male turning part of the pocket clasp (stayed put keeping pocket closed when intended, not flimsy). The second one I got seems to have a much more flimsy turning part of...

What’s the worst cue you’ve ever bought?

A late 80s Mali with points and linen wrap that came undone (horrible hit after using the big pin cues I own now and before) and a custom requested DP cue with points and a leather wrap (again, horrible hit).

Is our team 8 ball BCA / FargoRate handicap system typical / reasonable?

yes, with the first conversion chart (not my suggested one), I totally agree

Is our team 8 ball BCA / FargoRate handicap system typical / reasonable?

Seams like the last two replies are quite reasonable, with the end of season payouts only going to Top X teams to continue with the handicapped league theme and no top individuals. Also, this Fargo to Rating conversion seems more reasonable:
