Meucci Originals can be worth alot of money if you have a good one. A guy on our pool team told me a great story about a friend of his from arizona. He had a Meucci Original tha was given to him by his father. He wondered if it was authentic or a knock off. My friend told him to send it to...
Seeing examples of his material is very easy for me. Every one of his cues in this area is owned by someone I know. He comes to town once or twice a year to visit. Last time he was here he brought 10 cues with him. A bunch of us met up at the club. We spent about 30 minutes just looking and...
If I could visit my maker I would. He lives in arizona and I live in indiana. I will make sure to ask if the wood has been properly seasoned before I decide to buy. If I have to I can wait for it to season. Hopefully I won't have to.
CookWoods is a good sight. They have some excellent wood on their site and they also put up some great excellent on e-bay. I'm just waiting for a piece of wood that catches my eye and is big enough for what I need. It's hard to choose with so many beautifull exotic woods out there. Tops on...
I am working on possible designs for my next purchase. It will be a custom cue, break cue and jump cue. If have the option to provide my own exotic wood if I want to. I would love to buy some wood that really catches my eye. I wanted to know if anyone could reccomend online sites I could...
I was looking at the Artisan pool table from Brunswick. I like the simple deisgn of the table. I was wondering if any of you guys had insights on the quality, playability and price of this line of tables. I would like to get my own table eventually so I can work on my game. I get out...
We just got knocked out of our city tournament in 9-ball. It was double elimination. It came down to the last match on tuesday and it was tied 40-40. Our sl5 played their sl8. Their sl8 made 6 quick points on back to back 9 on breaks. They split racks for a while which was all we needed...
Blud,
Have you ever made a shaft out of exotic wood? I am thinking of having my next custom cue made with an ebony shaft. My friend has a bubings shaft and it looks and plays great. I was just wondering if there were any negatives about a shaft made from exotic wood?
Thanks and keep...
My current stick is Birdseye Maple with Cocobolo inlays veneered with Ebony. My next stick will probably be Camatillo with Ebony inlays veneered with Tulipwood.
Any of you have cues with Camatillo Wood in them? Any of the cumemakers that post on her use Camatillo Wood? I really like the color of the wood. I am think of using it as my main wood in my next custom cue. Thanks guys for any comments you guys have. :)
