    Rules Question

Another question along this same line pertaining to fouls. If you foul and a point is taken away, do you spot a ball for that point? I've read the rules from the BCA site and cannot find any mention of doing this. I know of people that play this way, and I have when playing them. Since the...

    Rules Question

In 14.1 I know that if you hit an object ball with the cue ball but neither ball hits a rail it's a foul. But here's my question. Does the incoming player have to play from behind the head string, or play it as it lies? I have looked through the rules but cannot find anything on this...

    Spiral Light Bulbs Going Bad

We've replace the regular bulbs over 2 of the tables where I play with 100 watt equivalent spiral bulbs. These bulbs came from Wal Mart, and out of eleven bulbs used 4 have gone bad in less than 3 weeks. These things are made in China for GE. On the package in states that if the bulb doesn't...

    Something to think about

You break the rack in a game of 8 ball. Now just think, you have 16 balls rolling around inside an area of approx. 34 square feet (9 foot table) and in that area there are 6 holes for them to fall into, and yet not one goes. Go figure!

    Reccomendation for mechanic's how-to book

I'm not a table mechanic, but I noticed in the Mueller catalog that they sell a pool table step-by-step installation and recovery DVD. In the 2006 catalog it's on page 110 and is item #RV23. Probably on their web site also.

    Adjusting Rail Height

The Saga Continues Well we finally had the people out to look at the cushions on the Sterling table. The owner of the business swears that they are the correct cushions, so nothing will be done by them to fix the problem. Two of us were arguing with him about how they were low, and how bad...

    Foul on all balls

I would like to see foul on all balls used more. Some of the guys I play against, after using the bridge, will have rearranged 2 or 3 balls on the table by the time their through with their shot.

    Adjusting Rail Height

I checked the rails again and there must be at least a 1/16th of an inch overhang between the cushion and the rail. We're going to check with the people who installed these cushions and see what they have to say about this. Of course it have been some time since they did the work so I doubt...

    Pechauer cues

I have owned a PS02 for about a month now. The more I play with it the better I like it. The only problem I have with it is that when they made the cue they didn't get all the missed shots out of it. :D

    Adjusting Rail Height

OK, here are the measurements I came up with...measuring twice. Nose to nose the figures are 49 5/8" wide, 99 5/8" long, and the rail cushion height before we shimmed it was 1 11/32" high. I measured two other areas also. The rail itself is about 1 3/4" high (or thick). Measuring vertically...

    Adjusting Rail Height

Finally got around to raising the rails SD. We could not find any poster board the thickness we needed, so one of the guys went and bought a piece of hardboard from a building supply. It came 1/8 inch thick, but he shaved it down to close to what we needed. Since the rails on the Sterling...

    ESPN Billiards

I'm with you teko454. I also wish they'd dig into their vault and bring back some 14.1 matches. Give 9 ball and 7 ball a rest for a change.

    The good olde days

Some of the pool rooms I went to when I was a pup also had the best hotdogs and hamburgers in town. Couldn't have passed a health inspection to save their life, but still good food.
