Buyer beware.. Action Elite Case ACL24

My wife and I just spent 45 minutes wrestling my Samsara OUT of this case that I received from Budgetcues.com yesterday. The Viking took about 10 minutes to extract.

It's got tubes made of rubber or something similar, and apparently creates a seal when the cue is in there. The butts were barely pushed in, not nearly all the way, a good 2 inches from it, in fact. My hands are killing me! We tried everything.. I was about to cut it out but just kept at it until finally it budged. Budgetcues says it has a 2 week return policy on unused products, nothing mentioned about satisfaction so I'm hoping they refund my money.. $180 is a lot for such a ridiculous design!!

Lesson learned, ~now~ I know why good cases cost $300+ lol.. Instroke ordered already heh.

Nope, and nope.. thanks for thoughts though.. on further inspection it appears the 'tubes' are more ovular than round.. looks almost like they put the wrong insert in the wrong case.

I have an Action case. The tubes do seem to be too deep. I stuck a couple inches of rolled up cardboard and a piece of foam down a couple of the tubes to make it easier to retrieve the butts. For a cheap case, this setup works fine. I am looking forward to buying a Halliburton case, though.

Don't know if its the same dealer, but I had a minor issue with a Joss cue I bought from Budget Billairds out of Miss. and few years ago and they were very nice about making the situation right. Hope your case gets switched out by your dealer.

I was looking at those cases before I bought my instroke today. It looks like I dodged a bullet. I hope they give you your money back because that case sounds useless.

Thanks for all the kind words.. I guess I'll find out Monday what they intend to do about the return. I'm guessing it was just made for thin-butt cues of some sort, since the Samsara was barely even in far enough to close the lid when it got stuck. My Instroke is on the way so at least I won't have to be stuck with it.. I won't be skimping on accessories anymore at least heh :)

Yeah, that's who I bought mine from too.. I went with the 3x7 leather one for $300.. Should be here Tuesday :)

Adanac67 and Bastian, let us know how you like the cases you ordered after you receive them.

Will do.. Nielson's was recommended to me by a local player. I have to say I was initially quite impressed with his customer service.. I ordered at like 3am Friday night and he immediately replied to my inquiries and added an item to the order that I wanted.. he said he would even try to get it out in Saturday's overnight usps mail.. outstanding customer service from him so far.

He did the same for me. The guy is right on top of things. This is his business and he is obviously hoping for repeat customers.

I had a cue get stuck in a 3x6 porper case in 92, my friend did as well one night, needless to say its history, his cue took over 30 minutes to get out, it was an expensive cue-I cant remember what it was. mine wasnt as bad. Its terrible when people market/sell junk like that.

Oh it's completely ridiculous.. My cue was barely in far enough for the case to close, so there is just no way it would ever have been viable. I'm typically not one to go the cheaper route, but $300 seemed a bit much for me to spend on a case.. $180 seemed much more reasonable. I've once again learned my lesson on the cheaper route.. you get what you pay for! Seriously though, how hard could it be to design a cue case? lol! They could have put any production cue inside and quickly realized their mistake.

My Instroke shipped out Saturday.. Can't recommend Nielson's Billiards on eBay enough for the outstanding customer service.

I'm still trying to get ahold of BudgetCues.com, they never answer their phone. Customer service lines shouldn't roll to voicemail, I should have the option of waiting on hold if I want to! No reply to my email to them yet either.. grr. I'll let you all know how it plays out.

Finally got through.. Julia there said she hates those cases as well, they never seem to fit (hmm, so you KNOW your product sucks yet still sell it to unsuspecting customers?) Anyway, that aside, I asked how to send it back to them.. she referred me to the address on the website.. I followed with 'so then you'll just credit my Visa once you receive it?' and CLICK! line disconnected.. I've tried back 10 times, and get voicemail every time.
Update: last two calls have just rang until finally ending in a terminal busy signal.. I guess they are having phone problems. I sent another email, no response, not even to the initial one I sent. I'm not holding out high hopes for this refund! lol!

You know, I'm all for people running businesses out of their house.. I'll support these companies any chance I get because they typically go out of their way to help the customer. Fortunately my new case from Instroke should be here today, so I'm not going to be too impatient.. I hold out hope that I'll get my money back.
