Pechauer cues

I'd like to get some opinions on Pechauer cues. I owned one in the past and I thought it was well made, but I didn't play with it long enough to form an opinion on the cue. I saw a picture that showed how Pechauer cues are put together and every part is put together with a screwed joint and I doubt that there are many if any other cue makers who do this. This method has to be one of the strongest ways to fasten the parts together.

I had been playing with Jacoby's for about a year and as soon as I hit with a Pechauer I switched right away. Not that I'm anybody special, but I have owned my share of cues and none of them hit as nice as my Pechauer.

I have a Pechauer P-08 that I absolutely love the way it hits. I'm nobody special either, but this is the one cue that I came back for after hitting with several other cues when I was looking for a new cue.

I've had my Pechauer for probably 7 years now and I love the way it hits and plays. I've played with a lot of other cues by various different cue makers and so far I haven't found one that I like that much better (at least not enough to make me switch.) Of course this is a personal preference thing, and I do like a firmer/more solid hit in a cue.

I have been playing with a Pechauer for about 5 yrs now. The one I use now is a custom cue and I wouldnt get rid of it for anything. The Pechauers are great people to deal with and their cues are high quality work.

I'll also chime in a "YAY" for Pechauer cues! I've always enjoyed the "feel" of mine and though I have and have had other cues, nothing seems more "warm" than my Pechauer. I highly recommend them!

My regular playing cue for about 5 years was a Pechauer JP model with the flat-faced joint and 3/8-10 pin. I loved the way it played with the original shaft, then I eventually upgraded to a Predator shaft. The only reason I put it down was that I started playing with a cue that I built. I've still got my Pechauer and have no plan to get rid of it. I had an issue with the pin coming unglued a few years ago and Jerry was great about taking care of it, free of charge. Great cues, great customer service, you can't go wrong as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not a Schon fan. To me there are 3 excellent production cues:
J. Pechauer, Joss, and upper end McDermotts.

I have played with 3 separate Pechauers for 5 years. Top Notch equipment & great Customer Service. They also have a great Break Cue. It seemed to be everyone's favorite at The Super Billiards Expo in 2006.

I have one and it is very wsell made the tollerances are perfect, it is a very well made cue, I just dont like the hit of mine, but thats just me and that cue, i'm sure I couold find one I love. I was in Germany when I bought it, because I needed a cue and that was all I could find without going on a mission. i'd recommend them.

Cue construction

Here's the link to the Pechauer construction page. I think it's pretty impressive that all of the parts are glued and then screwed together. That construction method has to be one of the strongest in cue making!

I have owned a PS02 for about a month now. The more I play with it the better I like it. The only problem I have with it is that when they made the cue they didn't get all the missed shots out of it. :D

Many cue makers thread all of those components.

Could you name a couple of them just for information? I've never seen or heard of a cue maker who threaded all of his components together like this. I'm not saying you are wrong I would just like to know who else builds their cues like this.

I was at Nitti's shop today and all his sections are bolted and glued together. In fact , I was amazed at the precision of his contruction throught the internal body of the cue. You could literally saw it in half at any spot of the butt and see every joint mitered (full depth boxed veneers , points , etc) , every seam tight and if you didn't know any better you'd have a hard time telling theres glue in there the fitting so precise.

I'm a craftsman of 20+ years and that's the tightest work I've "personally" ever seen.

Needless to say I left a hefty check there today.

It's going to be along next 6 months . . .

I'm a fan of Chris Nitti's cues and I agree with you about his workmanship. He has some of the sharpest inlays in his cues that you will find. He definately makes a fine cue and i'd love to own one one of these days.
