Ultimate Pool USA Boston Shootout

Yeah I'm picking up that SVB either has an extremely tone deaf sense of humor, is a misogynist, or just an extreme a-hole when it comes to women. He really needed to just shut up and let her shoot, I think she made less mistakes than him.
Ashley is a young, up and coming player.... This was an opportunity for her to learn from one of the absolute best 8 ball players in the world. They both know that.. He wasn't being an "a-hole"... He was setting the stage for her to win the tournament. Nothing more. Nothing less. And, as a result, she takes home the trophy.

To Ashley's credit, she performed very well.

Alex Bausch is a solid under-the-radar player. I was present when he ran a six pack against Jayson Shaw at Turning Stone in 2023.

In pool if I'm playing for fun, practicing or gambling or competing against someone I'd prefer they aren't PC over being PC and caring about STUPID SHIT that doesn't matter or make me any better at competing at pool or life in general! SVB has earned the right for anyone he partners with to respect his coaching, especially at bar table 8 ball WITH A SHOT CLOCK!!!

What's the mystery about shootout and finals?
what is open?
what is shootout?
is it first round /second round?

or is it simply thurs/fri
sat/sun?

are there race changes and rule changes?
what are they and when?
what is winner/ runner up/ etc. payout?

also- why can bergman move the white ball with his cue tip while positioning the ball for the break shot but other players cannot?

maybe it depends on the mood of the ref?

I berate my mail guy. He's a real a-hole.

Very confusing thread.

golden break is a term from 9-ball

not sure why they use it here

when and where and why are there
different rules for winning or losing on the break shot?

Tom Cousins won the Boston Open, defeating SVB in a semifinal match and then Declan Brennan in the final. In those two marches, Cousins broke 12 times; 11 were successful and 10 led to B&Rs. Nine of the 10 B&Rs were in a row across the two matches -- an alternate-break 9-pack (across matches).
