Two On The Same Day Dilemma

Your own fault.

More often than not you pre-scold us on how not to reply.
This time you didn't.

Open season.

Man thats really cool. I know I'd be excited to be getting both of those on the same day. Post some pics and give us feedback on both. I'm seriously eyeing the Joss cues and thinking about pulling the trigger on one. What shaft did you get with the Joss? I've been shooting with a Rhino carbon fiber shaft mostly on my Mcdermott for the last year or so and really like it a lot. I dont believe Joss currently manufactures a carbon fiber shaft? I've heard good things about the kielwood shafts but never had the opportunity to hit one.

I would shoot with the one you think you would like the least first. That way when you shoot with the second stick your brain will say "Oh! this stick is much better! I'm so happy!!"

Instead of "Oh wow this stick suks! I should have only bought that first stick!!"

I think I will shoot with the new Joss first simply because it comes with that Joss Premium Layered Soft tip. All of my cues have the pressed Elkmaster tip but Joss said they didn't have that as an option.

Now the new Pechauer cue will indeed have the Elkmaster tip on it.

As far as the Joss shaft I got their regular standard shaft. Nothing special here.

When I got my first soft tip ever... I noticed it shot pretty unpredictable until at least 10hrs of play. I am assuming this is because soft tips are just inconsistent until they become a medium hardness. after about 50hrs of play... Now I'm left with a medium tip with a mushroom. I think the Lesson I learned is there is no point in buying soft tips.

I don't see the difference between choosing between two new cue and choosing between 20 old cues....
Choices choices choices.... At the end of the day, all cues will play just as good or just as bad as the player that holds it.

Not sure about that...
Cue are nice and it's great if you can afford getting a few.
But switching cues often will hurt your game.
Is this really True? I was told if you have a "good stroke" you can pick up any cue and play just fine.

Like almost instantly. Maybe a half hour of practice.

Even if you use the same shaft on different cues, they may perform the same, but they will feel different, meaning the feedback that you get from the cue, the vibration is different and may cause you to stroke differently.

In most shots, it wouldn't be a major issue, and a quick rack or two might be enough to adjust, but when pinpoint position is required, it might be more tricky.

Now if you are switching cues and you also switch shafts, the difference is greater.

I got both cues already. The UPS guy got me out of bed at 10:00 this morning, knocking on the door. I have Insomnia. However, me and my dog both jumped out of bed in a hurry!

Anyway, I did open the box with the Pechauer cue. And I must admit it is one of the most beautiful cues I have ever seen! I've not opened the box with the Joss cue yet. I have to run to the grocery and then the Amish restaurant and eat my late lunch. Then I will come back home and open the box with the Joss cue. Then head down to the table.
