Florida Open 2025, August 5-10, Orlando, Caribe Royale

That last rack between Capito and Gorst was painful to watch. I think Robbie took literally 10 minutes to shoot one shot. Fedor uncharacteristically botched two very makeable shots in that rack alone. The entire rack took about 20 minutes, maybe more.

Watch out for this junior!!! Kaito Okumura, representing Japan. I watched him play a rack and a half and my eyes put him at about 700 speed already. His stroke is pro speed, imo. Idk how old he is, maybe 15-16 is my guess. I had to go before his next match, otherwise I would have watched his whole match. He’s got to be the favorite in the jr event, imo.

FargoRate has him at 588 with 255 robustness, and living in California. He was either born in the USA or came as a young child, as he has an American accent. He was with his dad.

@mikepage do you have any insight into his rating? Is his rating fragile?

What about this one ? I am thinking using Tennis Wrap is pretty much "novelty". It changes the shapes (forms), grab, grips, feels...appearances...hell, why not use baseball bat and attach a shaft on it 😆

I dont mean to disrespect Earl, I love him, just honestly questioning as to where do we draw the lines about cue modifications

if it were any concern the refs would have said something

well if YOU think hes 700 then id say hes sandbagging

Earl was always a MR favorite.
He brings the crowd that brings money, used to be his game and his scandals, today just the scandals…

earl can still shoot good. very good. but started the match refusing to sit in his alotted chair. then the shot clock almost got him twice when he was arguing with the crowd. at one point he just stood like a madman with his hands as binoculars staring into the crowd. as usual it was more cringe than entertaining. think it ended 10-6 but had he been right in the head he could have won. he had plenty of chances that he could have converted if he was in a better state of mind
