World Games, Chengdu China, Aug. 7-17, 2025

Just saw Chezka choke on hill-hill against Han Yu in the gold medal 10-ball match. The stream was extremely choppy, but from what I gathered Chezka scratched while playing a safety on the 1 ball. Han Yu ran out for the 7-6 victory and the gold medal.

As we have so often noted on the forum, it is in defensive and tactical conceptualization and execution where Chezka, who runs the table as well as Siming Chen and Han Yu, is far less capable than the very best in women's pool. So often, in the late rounds of big events, this weakness shows up and costs her. The "don't worry, she's still young" excuse has come and gone. She is 26 and it is not early in her career. Wishing her well.

good result for gerson, whether he wins the final or not
This is how a player handles beating the best 9-ball player in the world…I’m cheering him for winning the final….

It was just a bad execution on the safety play, other than that she could have won the gold.
