Sorry, to properly help identify this cue I need some information.

1. How long is the cue and what des it weigh

In addition I need photos of the cues joint, the shaft insert, the cues handle and forearm.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful
How many 'JL' inital makers are there?

Its carved/cut in dude. Might need glasses. ;)
I need glasses, I blew the photo up to much larger size and looks like there bleed over along the edges. But, I could certainly be wrong, however that’s another good reason to supply better quality photos, along with additional ones!

Nice picture I blew it up, that logo looks professional. Blow up the OPs photo, it looks like it was applied with a sharpie not engraved.
On my big high res monitor i am pretty confident it looks engraved.

The black filling might have been redone by an amateur or may have degraded, that's why it looks that way.

Thanks for the correction, when I am online I generally use my Apple IPAD Air, not my not my MACBOOK Air. For a quick examination the IPAD works fine however, the resolution is probably not as good as your device. The biggest problem with the OPs post, is a lack of of good photos, a single photo that’s low resolution doesn’t cut it.

I'm in my office like 13 hours a day. Four big high res monitors. Very accurate monitors. My main monitor is a Wacom Cintiq where I draw/teach on whiteboards.

When I see an image like that I put it up on a big monitor.

On occasion I'll have my daughter enhance it if it's worth the time. She's an artist and I built a graphic arts computer for her.

In any case, more eyes are better. Glad to see you on the case.

that's what i thought. you can just see where the cap looks slightly indented where the letter is. wasn't just written on.
