Me too!!!!Bummer, I thought this was about, you know, RACKS. I better go back to NPR.
But according to most the Delta's are too loud. I love my Delta 13 Elite. If you don't throw the balls in the rack and then slam it back and forth 25 times they really are not that loud.Dude has a great youtube channel on straight pool. I kind of wanted to buy one of the racks but I already have a delta 13 so not really in the market for racks.
Get some leather inserts. It makes a very big difference and looks cool too. The inserts absorb some the the vibration that resonates into a metallic sound. It truly does soften the rack noise and you can rack away without any sound discomfort. But according to most the Delta's are too loud. I love my Delta 13 Elite. I ordered initially with the inserts. Only racked once without them. Promptly inserted the inserts and all was good after that.Get some leather inserts. I guess I am one of the few who doesn't find my Delta annoyingly loud, I think it depends on how you rack too. When they are used at tournaments there are always at least a few who manage to make way more noise than everyone else.Get some leather inserts. It makes a very big difference and looks cool too. I don't find them to be annoyingly loud either. But then, I'm not one of those types that feels the need to get all the ball inside the rack in a second and a half. You know the ones I'm talking about. They're the ones that rack as if they're incredibly angry about something.I guess I am one of the few who doesn't find my Delta annoyingly loud, I think it depends on how you rack too. Crazy what they want for 3 strips of leather.I have a delta select I got used off of ebay for $50 I cut some extra 60d rubber that I had and glued it into the rack where the inserts go. Works perfectly and cost me maybe 50 cents instead of $40 for the branded leather ones.
Those are beautiful racks. If they have a clear finish like the Diamond wood racks its likely the balls will stick to the rack when humid. The 3 front balls stick to the rack when you push it forward to remove. Always had this problem at the hall in the summer. These were super cool. Bill has since retired. http://billwestleyracks.com/ This one is the nuts imo: http://billwestleyracks.com/thin-band-walnut.html Lately i've been using the room's Diamond Polycarb. rack. If i was buying i'd get one. Works perfect and is quiet. tuff to beat for the price.
Possible. Some real fine sandpaper would probably fix that. Those are beautiful racks. If they have a clear finish like the Diamond wood racks its likely the balls will stick to the rack when humid.
